Bit busy to post, but something is afoot. Business has streamlined significantly, GG is right about the loan term and in spite of (for Newcastle) significant commercial activity including new kit and now this (albeit tiny) announcement, there is absolutely **** all money available. I mean not even enough to buy Willock, that’s in instalments.

Even by our standards, it’s odd. Now there’s no reason at all for NCSL to make **** up, but I think it’s been patently clear for some time that KSA will not have any involvement in this football club.

Kenyon is actually at a different investment company who still look to sports, so he could be involved. However, my hope lies with Redball who must invest within a year else lose their funding and I don’t know who is available that suits their high profile/low cost. Indeed Billy Beane is a big underdog fan famously rejecting the Red Sox to stay with Oakland A’s to prove his point. More interesting is that Ashley tried to do a pathetic version of money ball a while back with Carr/France. Redball would be a much stronger version of that, but would not be about stellar signings - more like West Ham with players like Soucek.

I’ve not watched barely any Newcastle this season, there’s no point til Ashley is gone. I’m cautiously optimistic that will happen even sooner than we think.
