We wanted Andre gray and the deal was all done that was beginning of championship season after relegation Then ehab stopped it That was the beginning of the end Gray went to Burnley who won the league
If you want to have a go that’s fine. I am not a fan rep. I just happen to have a role as fan liaison. As for my language when replying to you, I have been quite moderate compared to what I would say to your face.
Nice one Kemps. I'm sending out personal thank yous to the 10,000 fans we have lost since we dropped out of the Premier League.
Totally agree. The radio is a lifeline for some of our older fans or those that can’t afford to go having lost jobs/work during lockdown. That refusal to give commentary to RH really ****s me off. No doubt about this being done out of spite.
My understanding and I am fairly certain it's well known was thet Steve Bruce's Rosie relationship was with old man Allam and not with Ehab .. in fact I seem to recall him saying similar after he'd gone that he had nothing but nice things to say about the old fella .. it was Ehab who wanted to change the direction of things and cut off the purse strings, I suspect that it was more to do with Ehab wanting to show who could piss the furthest ! Given Bruce's popularity
Like Barmby suggesting they had no money , I think Bruce said months prior that he may not be staying . Try that with any egotistical md and you will be out the door . It was public , whether it’s their culture or not ive worked for 4 owners and none of them would have got over it .
Bruce wanted to leave after we were relegated from the Premier League. He thought he would be sacked and was amazed when he wasn't. The owners begged him to stay, and he did. What did change was Bruce was told to identify the players he wanted and then leave the deals to be done by the owners. I presume the debt was getting too big to handle and the owners wanted more control of the outgoings, ie wages. Bruce didn't like that. My opinion is the trust between both parties was broken by then, We got promoted via the Play Off's and Bruce still wanted to leave, yet he wanted a pay off too, on top of his bonus for winning promotion. As the club didn't want him to leave they didn't see why they should pay him off. Messy yes. But there are two sides to every argument. And it's history.
Actually I think I will come back on this again. With two other supporters (the parents of one of the posters on this thread) I was asked to be an ambassador for Hull City supporters. I carried a wreath around the pitch at the Amex stadium and they stood on the centre circle with candles that represented two of the dead from the Shoreham Air disaster and I handed it to Steve Bruce to place on the pitch. It is no real secret that I am involve as a supporter. I will defend any supporter who gets involved at any level as long it is for the benefit of other supporters. I would never dream of taking the piss out of any supporter who gives up his or her time. I do not always agree with other supporters who are involved and I do not always agree with what other organisations say or do, but I would never and have never taken the piss or called them because, I respect that whilst we may differ, at least they are involved. Now to get back to your post. It doesn’t anger me, or upset me at all, I am actually embarrassed at your total lack of intellect. Now other posters might have a go and be quite strong with it, but at least they are not as thick as you and I don’t mind the banter.
I'm not going back through the thread to tidy up as it's not one I read too often, so don't have a feel for it, but from this point forward, can I ask posters to leave this thread for discussions on transfers, and have the wider conversations on other threads, such as the 'no new owners' thread? https://www.not606.com/threads/no-new-owners.330315/page-1028 Cheers all.
Troy Deeney leaving Watford to go to Birmingham allegedly. Exactly the ‘sort’ of experience I wish we could sign at CF.
some important points seem to have been forgotten 1 - the Allams had backed Bruce with a huge war chest increasing the overall debt to over £100 million - the Allams expected us to kick on having invested that amount - Bruce ****ed up and got us relegated leaving the club in a financial mess - at this point the Allams took the decision to reduce the debt back to manageable levels 2, The Allams backed Bruce in the Championship by retaining as many of the first team as possible which is why we managed to get promoted again at the first opportunity whilst ensuring the debt was coming down at the same time 3 - Bruce wanted another war chest at the start of the Premier League campaign - the Allams told him to **** off because they weren't prepared to keep investing in the club and increasing the debt above 100 million again - why would they give him another war chest when he ****ed up the last one 4 - Bruce also started openly expressing interest in the England job and had a discussion with officials of the FA about the job which pissed off the Allams 5 - he then resigned because they wouldn't let him spend / didn't trust him 6 At the end of the day - Ehab didnt like Bruce and he certainly didn't like his son so it was always going to end in tears the rest is history, the debt increased from around £30 - £40 million under Bruce to over £100 million - he spent more than every manager we've ever had since 1904 I'm not a fan of the Allams for many reasons BUT they have invested in the club until such time as they realised they were in danger of getting their fingers badly burnt - If Bruce hadn't got us relegated who knows where we would be now - we had some great players - but we are where we are now - the owners have pissed off the fans by not spending vast amounts any more and their stupid behaviour with name changes, seat moves, locked gates, removal of council sign and numerous other instances of childish petulance has meant their legacy will be forever tarnished - at the end of the day the debt is now back down to pre Bruce levels and hopefully we can start to move forward but one thing I'm certain of, we wont see the Allams throwing money around as they did a few years ago
So much so that you just had to reply to me again with more dick-measuring about you credentials as a supporter. Sounds like projection on your part. I took the piss out of you because you had the brass neck to say City supporters who boycotted or are still boycotting games due to the owners would be as welcome as Leeds supporters who sit in the home stands at the MKM if they come back if and when the Allams are gone, as if you speak for all City fans. Get off your high horse and get a grip
