    Four four fooking two!

    good first 15
bad second 15 - saves from Mac kept us in it
good third 15 - got the goals

second half we looked comfortable but Crewe still had chances, Mac kept them at bay. Could have had a couple more.

Putting Washington up with Stockley looks so much better.

Albie looked more comfortable in a deeper role.

    Another good cameo from Deji

It’s Crewe, who have been struggling themselves recently having had half their team sold, but happy with three points and a clean sheet. Hopefully this is the start of a winning run.

Apart from Gunter for Pearce, I'm glad that NA took my advice with the line up today.

See, this manager thing is piss easy really.

And he still got my predicted 2-0 win, so all good.

Good team performance. With a bit more composure in front of goal it could have been thrashing. Two cracking goals on the break, Stockley's was very coolly taken. I liked the look of Lee,but Washington played well enough to keep his place, and was still full of running at the end. Even allowing for the fact that Wigan are a better team than Crewe, overall a big improvement.

Crewe were shocking and will go down on this offering.
We were not great and are a LONG way from play off material.

Got to disagree Elfs. That's a tad harsh.

I didn't think Crewe were shocking.
They don't have much finishing power having got into good positions many times. But MacGillivray had some work to do. He kept us in it at times.
Charlton are mid-table material at present I think, but the window is not closed yet.
Elerewe looked very lively. Good on him.

I'm not sure even Crewe will go down. It depends if they eventually lose heart.
Their away fans applauded their efforts today. I thought they played a full part in an entertaining game.

But it's all about opinions of course <ok>

    Of course time will tell.
I feel that we will be a long way from promotion, although sticking to the 15 games barometer.

    Great summing up @Butterfield

We really really needed that opening goal! What a massive feeling of relief as well as joy when that went in <cracker> :1980_boogie_down:

That's the point, it was an improvement. Let's face it, it had to be.

To anyone who says it was only Crewe I'd say you have to look at it in the context of our last 3 game, where we've been really poor. We're never going to do a Clark Kent and suddenly smash every team in our way, but steady improvement is a reasonable aim after the poor performances of late. If Harry Arter is still anything like his old self he'll add a bit of steel to our midfield, where we're still pretty vulnerable, and all our play goes down the wings. I was getting seriously worried about a looming relegation scrap, but now it seems unlikely, and we also have a great prospect in Deji, Clare looked good when he came on, so there will be competition for places in some areas.

We've played three of the current top four so far.
Teams who have collectively won 13 of the 20 games they've played, and only lost 4.
And we did draw with Sheffield Wednesday.

Yes, some of our performances were poor. And we shouldn't be letting MK Dons beat us.
But - poor though our start has been - it has not been an unmitigated disaster.
The little gang of agitators jumping around screaming for Adkins & Sandgaard's heads should seriously calm down.
