Cant Cant be offside if you recieve it directly. After that its possible. Cantwell wonders why people react badly to him, but then acts like a petulant child.
Can’t believe that goal was disallowed, Cantwell was level with the Leicester player surely with the new “thicker” lines. Deserved to win that
He didnt need to be there though. Why make that a decision that has to be made. And he definitely didnt have to throw his toys around afterwards. That was an encouraging game all in all, with Rashica looking particularly good. Only downers were Pukki starting to look too slow for this league, and Cantwell getting his ego out for all to see again.
I think we were robbed to be honest. Two soft goals conceded. Could easily have VAR giving another penalty which they didn’t check. But a much improved performance is at least encouraging. It’s going to be a tedious season if we have a load more “Norwich unfortunate to lose” headlines though.
Felt like another kick in the nuts . This was winnable but as soon as we conceded first I knew we would lose because that's the trend over 3 premier league seasons our away record is absolutely horrible too so don't expect any miracle at Arsenal September 11th. Good display as far as effort and desire but Leicester were awful today and they still did us easily. Buendia is our last player to score in open play and we have conceded 34 in 13 straight defeats King Zog has fallen @zogean_king
Disappointing outcome, we deserved something from that. Midfield balance still not working, perhaps that's down to a lack of familarity with each other, but equally there doesn't seem to be the awareness/communication to sort out defined roles on the fly. All three were afraid to press in case they left gaps, and afraid to drop off and leave space ahead of them. So they stood in a line in no mans-land, with all three doing nothing. Liked what I saw of Rashica, Aarons was good too. Cantwell's head went after the disallowed goal, can't remember if we had subs left but he needed to be hooked. Chased back when Norwich were defending a 2v3 and had 4 rash attempts at committing fouls, any of which would have been a second booking. Was amazed VAR didn't look at a late handball call against Albrighton. Albrighton was too busy pushing Cantwell out of the way to follow the flight of the ball, and it bounces off his arms and out of play. Are your arms in a "natural position" if you're busy pushing someone over?
Everyone rightly discusses the decisions that VAR makes but no one ever talks about whether something is looked at or not in the first place. This seems to me the area where bias against 'smaller' clubs probably happens. And once you look at many goals you will find some reason in the build-up to chalk it off. If Liverpool or Man U had scored that goal against us, would it have been looked at? Personally I doubt it.
Pukki had one chance that in previous seasons he would have chested down and scored easily. Instead headed straight at Schmeichel. Did well to score his pen but in the first 3 games he's been anonymous. Sargent had a shot he put wide and Idah had a chance to level in injury time that he wasted so for all the huff and puff and better performance we are still lacking a centre back or 2 ,holding midfielder and striker. Pull out all the stops Webber it's not a given we will be going up again anytime soon if we go with what we have got again then it's not enough. 3 days left of the window
