Yes, Kevin Ellison - he scored the equaliser for Hull at SMS at a game I was at donkeys years ago. Matt Oakley scored a cracker for Saints.
Yeah, I remember the collectors item for Oakley! Interestingly - in contrast to Ellison taking to the field aged 41 last night - a ridiculously young Theo played verses Hull that day. As did another young Saints attacking prospect, who had a solid 350 pro game career, the now long retired Dexter Blackstock - spanning the time between Ellison's and Walcott's obscure "reunion" yesterday.
Yes. Best goal for me as he git the goalkeeper going the other way. Redmonds goal was good too. Although he didn't get a goal, I think Diallo deserves a special mention for being involved in a lot of the build ups.
That the bald fella who missed a sitter late on? Funny moment pre match when a group of Saints fans were singing 'Harry Potter, he's coming for you'. He came over and said "Are you lot pissed? Thought so, I'll batter all ****ing three of you" - one of the lads in question looked shell-shocked for about ten seconds until the player burst out laughing.
Not particularly. Loads of us thought it was brilliant. Always been a big believer of footballers giving a bit back to supporters and it was all in good spirits.
Sure, but threatening to “batter the f*ck” out of someone is hardly banter. I’d have laughed if I’d been there too, if I’m honest. But on reflection you’ve gotta say it’s a bit of a dick move by him.
Not sure he was genuinely offering them out, more of a wind up and a 'reyyyyyyy' when mateys face dropped. I do take your point though.
Fair enough. I guess you had to be there to gauge the mood. Probably was all cool, but for matey in the crowd to sh*t himself, I just assumed it was said in an aggressive way.
Bit of nothing really. He's out injured and people are looking at the conspiracy theories of either (a) no longer wanted (b) homesick (c) fallen out with Ralph (d) Saints need a bit of money. Adam Blackmore adds fuel to the fire by saying he's having difficulty staying. I think he meant 'playing' but part of me thinks Adam has a very mischievous sense of humour...
Adam Blackmore apparently let slip something about Stu “having trouble staying at the club” which I didn’t hear, but Twitter is concerned about it. People are saying that the calf niggle the club reported is a smokescreen. Tom Leach says it is a genuine injury, and that Stu will be out for Newcastle.
But has been called up to the Scotland squad, which has had tongues wagging again. Personally I don’t think there’s anything in it.
I doubt he'll play in the Denmark game next Wednesday, but he might be fit for the Moldova match on the 4th September.
