The cups should be used to experiment a bit, Bournemouth are a decent side so he won't be playing our U23s but I'm expecting most of the team that got thumped by Man City to be rested. If anyone shines tomorrow they could be involved against Leicester
Matches my thinking. Sorensen, Tzolis, Sargent Williams, Gunn and Idah have to start, with Lungi at DM. How will the club know if they are good enough to oust first teamers if they are never given the chance to show their ability.
If Tzolis plays, I think we may see Giannoulis at LB. They formed the left side pairing at PAOK when Tzolis played, and DF will want to minimise the psychological damage to DG from Saturday. Would seem positive for both players.
Reading between the comments in the presser it sounded more likely that Tzolis could come on as sub. If Rashica starts he will have a similar link up if Sargent plays. Hoping to see both of those pairings bear fruit. Here's a Bournemouth view of the match: https://bournemouth.vitalfootball.co.uk/will-cherries-win-first-cup-game-at-carrow-road/

My guess is Farke will make 3/4 changes from the team that started against Man City. Pukki, Cantwell, Rupp +-Giannoulis - Sargent, Dowell, McLean +- Williams
Just a reminder boys it's a 19:00 kick off tonight . Not sure how easy it will be to find a stream. Edit . Just seen that @Bure budgie
The only one to survive the last 2 starting line ups is Rupp . Really looking forward to see Sargent up front Sorensen as DM and Tzolis Gunn and Williams making their debuts. Gunny played in pre season I guess
More changes than I expected! Good opportunity for Sorensen, really hope he puts in a 9/10 performance. There's an opportunity to replace Rupp or McLean with Gilmour and see what that midfield balance looks like too. Similarly, Giannoulis+Tzolis link up potentially? If we're going for a heavily changed team, probably makes sense to rest Pukki entirely. Hopefully this'll be a good indication of the strength of our second XI, Bournemouth's team looks significantly weaker than last season: please log in to view this image No Billing in the squad? Injured or..... Ironic that Nyland makes his Carrow Road debut for the opposition.
I really want Sorensen to do well tonight and force his way into the line up for the rest of the season. I think Farke has said he has taken a bit longer than others getting back up to match fitness since he had covid which might be why he has been held back. Would be delighted to see him kick in from here and become a mainstay! Excited to see Tzolis and Sargent start together! Also shout out to Mumba, I think this might be his first start for the club?
Hoping that Rupp is playing because he only got 45mins at the weekend and he is now part of a rotation squad rather than the first team 11
Perhaps we'll be wanting to prove a point as well, Dunc. Like our lineup - very much as I had hoped for. OTBC!
Thanks for doing this, Duncan. I'm antediluvian, and my computer skills wouldn't be up to it. Regarding the selection, wow! Farke doesn't usually do lots of changes. It will be hard to judge their success or otherwise since the opposition is obviously much less challenging than Liverpool or Man City, but still very interesting. Like many people, I really hope Sorensen does well.
#metoo not Rupp's biggest fan but I want him to put a performance in today as well . No point getting on the backs of our own players
Agree on Rupp. Excited about that line-up, even if we lose. It is almost as if Farke reads this forum...
