    Without looking this up, it is the distinctive voice of Gil Scott Herón.

    A who's who from the Philly stable! It is perhaps as apt now as it was in 1977. Knowing Liverpool quite the ghetto were those areas off Upper Parliament Street. The area has gradually been gentrified. Same with parts of London particularly along the river front. As for the USA , I do not know.

    Here's a very nice little documentary about the growth of the Krautrock movement in Germany and its subsequent influence on modern music...

    Here are a few tracks from an album i've been listening to a lot recently. They are from Experimental Dream Pop duo, Sweet Trip's first release for 12 years, A Tiny House, In Secret Speeches, Polar Equals and it's strong all the way through.
    Just close your eyes and let the gorgeous sonic waves wash over you...,

    Don Everly, who with brother Phil influenced just about everyone from the Beatles to Simon and Garfunkel, and the Stones to the Hollies, has died aged 84. Here’s their biggest hit, from way back in 1960:

    Don was described as one of the finest Rhythm Guitar players by Keith Richards and he won an Iconic Riff Award for the intro to Wake Up Little Susie....

    I echo your wishes SA, and I trust that if The Boxer is on the set list, the often forgotten extra verse, which Paul and Art only ever performed live, and then only occasionally, is included.

    (Comes where the trumpet solo occurs in the recording:)

    Now the years are rolling by me—
    They are rockin' evenly.
    I am older than I once was,
    And younger than I'll be.
    That's not unusual;
    No, it isn't strange:
    After changes upon changes
    We are more or less the same;
    After changes we are more or less the same.

    How bloody true those word are!

    Paul Simon is a lyrical and musical genius and up there with Bob Dylan and Neil Young as one of my heroes.
    I should add Joni Mitchell to that, not to be sexist!
