Yea the start is crucial but both sides will be taking no risks. The difference is nobody is going to wander off out of position and let us in here so we need to take the chances.

In the last game it could have been 5 goals bit they only got the one and then tuchel was such a one track mind coach he kept hammering ot over our heads for werner and gave up any shot at winning by more. Once they got one they didn't come out.l but they knew we would only miss anyway.

I'd be perfectly happy with a dull 0-0 right ow but the nagging 19-0-0 requirement says we need to win.

Mane missed a sitter, completely missed the ball as well as goal and firmino.missed a header. They.missed loads.

If we take a chance then we can shut up shop and annoy them but our lot (mane missed 3 before scoring) need to put the ball away.

Any draw feels like points lost now. In the past it seemed ok to draw with direct rivals but when it feels like you can't afford to drop more than 16-20 points all season a draw doesn't seem such a good result any more - especially at home.

Yeah thats summed it up, a draw is not bad but we really need to win every game just like 19/20 based on expected city and chelsea to do likewise.

It’ll be a tight game for sure and most likely only a 1-0 affair.
With Lukaku up front Chelsea have a few more options which are likely to bring in Werner a bit more. That’s going to cause Liverpool problems so you’ll have to hope that Virgil has had his weetabix!
It’s really too early to be talking about this being a title decider but it will be a good indication of how a season will go.

It will be less tight than people think. Chelsea played two really weak teams. Crystal Palace had virtually no defence and were toothless at the front. Arsenal was much worse. That CB Mari played an awful naive game against Lukaku with no support from his midfielders.

We will overturn them after a tricky 30 minutes. The crowd will make a difference and Jota and Salah will bag one each.

    2-0 comfortable win.

robertson 100% lukaku will target tsimikas.

Same as we will target Christensen who has a mistake in him.

    Mendy
    Azpi Christensen Rudiger
    James Kante Jorginho Chilwell/alonso
    Mount/havertz lukaku Werner

Our main route to goal will we out to in here. got to go wide channels behind their wing backs and pull a cb out.

We will need to boss the cm location.

I think mr Tuchel is a one trick pney. good defensively but i see him setting up to smash the ball over our heads towards lucky and mr missalot.

The only issue with bossing that midfield is you’ve got to boss Jorginho and Kante which is no mean feat.
Swap Christiensen with Silva and there’s not much of a target to hit. Even the he’s not a bad centre half!
As long as Chelsea can keep Salah quiet, which shouldn’t be too much of an issue, then I think Liverpool will struggle a bit. Tuchel teams have mean defences which will mean a more varied attack will be needed.
    Exciting game to come though!

Great. It's not out there I'd be worried about him.

    I'd agree.

He is a poor player on the left side of the pitch. He wants to be starting right to wide right and then bring the left foot into play. I think he won't go after matip.

thus robertson and vvd will eat him alive.

Matip has to deal with werner who is maddingly poor at hitting the target. which is shocking really. IMo actually it is the ball over matip and trent to this guy thats the biggest danger.

If we win the midfield by flooding it and getting bobby in to do so i think we will do well. But then putting bobby in sacrifices jota's goals.

Main issue in this match will be Tuchel, he's a tactical manager that will try and stop us doing our thing.

<peacedove> Having Chelsea this early in the season is curse or blessing I don't really know. Chelsea are surely going to test our defence to the limit Vvd and Matip are going to cope well with it. Lukaku must be kept quiet. Chelsea won here last season by one goal. Currently West Ham are top of the league by goal scored, and they are
on six points so also Chelsea and Liverpool.
I cannot go for anything other than hoe win. My prediction: Liverpool 2:1

    Other fixtures and predictions:

    Saturday 28th August 2021.
    Manchester City v Arsenal 3:0*
    Aston Villa v Brentford 2:1
    Brighton & Hove Albion v Everton 2:2
    Newcastle United v Southampton 2:1
Norwich City v Leicester City 1:2
West Ham United v Crystal Palace 2:2
    Liverpool v Chelsea 2:1

    Sunday 29th August 2021

    • Burnley v Leeds United 1:!
    • Tottenham Hotspur v Watford 2:0
    • Wolverhampton Wanderers v Manchester United 1:3

Under normal circumstances, I would choose Robbo 100%. But I'm just thinking about his injuries and potentially rushing him back ...

I agree. It's why I said if fit, because he will have to be. He has the edge on Kostas because of experience but the latter has shown himself to be a good understudy so far.

    IMO this is about

    a) Fitness
    b) pressure due to competition
    c) winning this game.

Robertson has been training for a while, we however don't know if theres any contact training.

He has to be feeling the pressure (good) so he will be pushing to say he is fine so the medical staff need to decided

Finally, tsimikas has done ok, he does have some weaknesses on the ground without that robertson doesn't and i am sure chelsea will pump hoofs at lucky into that channel so we will see what that means.

Personally if he starts then i'll be confident the medical dept have no worries.
