They aren't particularly good, our keepers. But the fault doesn't lie with them exclusively. Just the same, getting beat 9-0 isn't just the managers fault either.
They might ? Isn’t he technically available at the right price? Which of course means they open with a 20m bid...
I did not know this. Seems a crazy decision from him but whatever. I guess similar to JWP and us, Brighton won’t block him if one of the big boys comes in I really thought the guy Brighton signed was his replacement ready for him to go
I think I'm right in saying that anyhow. But point being, Villa get a couple of quid in and suddenly think they're Real Madrid. God, I'd love them to go down.
In this case it does very much sound like the fans calling for this online because they want a central midfield upgrade. Not quite the same as with JWP where they stuck in a derisory bid . There is no indication that the club itself will make a bid If they sign no one else and it works out that they basically funded their business from selling Grealish there will be a right stink kicked up by their fans
The fact Ings went to them does not make hope they get relegated . Not sure if that's what you are implying, but that is what I think. Wish we had an owner who put money in . Nevermind what he makes.
Villa aren’t going down barring an extremely unlikely set of circumstances involving post transfer window long term injuries to Ings, Watkins and Martinez Because that leaves them realistically equal or worse than the season they should have been relegated in key positions. But then there still need to be weaker teams picking up more points. Bookies have 8 teams below them I think including us. 6 would need to outperform them
Not bothered about Villa. They’ve spent time down in the Championship and their fans are a decent bunch. Good luck to them.
No, I don't really care that Danny went to them. It was their fans goading whilst they were trying to get JWP which has made them my pantomime villain for the season (I don't honestly mean them any ill will, I just enjoy having someone to be grumpy about. It was Liverpool, then Everton, now it's Villa).
As Villa were relegation fodder before going down (6-1, ahhhhh ) and spent that time in the Champ; I wouldn't be surprised, if last season was the first time they finished above us in a decade, or even manged to beat us in a decade. The nerve of them, talk about being emboldened... immediately going after our best players!
I really don’t understand why the contract is still on the table if it is unsigned. Surely we should be withdrawing the offer so we are not faced with another keeper/player on a long term contract when they are clearly not good enough. I personally hope he hasn’t signed yet because his mistakes are becoming more frequent. I do understand that a lot has to do with the defence in front of a keeper but my biggest frustration is how many times he needlessly gets caught in possession with the ball at his feet when it’s avoidable and he just needs to clear it. Preferably not straight to the opposition as he also tends to do…
To be fair it isn't just McCarthy that happens to. Far too often it happens to the centre halves as well. I suspect they are working on FF's replacement for next summer who will be first choice. McCarthy probably knows this and is keeping his options open before signing.
McCarthy allegedly wants a significant payrise (as in double) and is hoping some other club will offer that to him . Hence why it isn’t signed
Well obviously not from us. But he perhaps hopes something like that or closer to that will be offered elsewhere I don’t see where that would be coming from though. Which other club. Literally it would only be one of those situations where a top club wants to add English players for the champions league requirements. And none are in that position at the moment
Spurs have a second choice on load from Atalanta, Liverpool dont have adequate reserves really. Who have M.City got? Everton even. It's not crazy he would wait and see for one of these berths open up, a recent full-time PL 'keeper would be attractive to them, or a newly promoted side. I'd prefer him not to sign a contract here, well an improved one at least.
