I’m interested to hear people’s thoughts amid the fresh speculation and Johnson’s comments about having no appetite to losing him, starting to sound to me more and more that the club would sell if a really good offer came in but otherwise are more than happy to keep him

We have made some good signings at the back, but they are all young and we need an experienced head to go with them. To that end we have only got Flanagan and Bailey-Wright, so we need both in case one is injured.

Aye, I think LJ has sussed that he plays his best football in the anchor of a back three, and does well at tightening things up when he comes on to help defend a lead

I was surprised we let Connor Mc go tbh as he could cover CB and RB with ease, may have been a financial decision but at the time he looked a better shout than Flanners, but to be fair to him Flanners he has played very well of late, long may it continue as I am very happy with the way things are going atm.

My thoughts as well me RE Flannigan, I wasn’t surprised to see Connor Mac go like, I had a feeling he would, although he done an okay job last season overall we need more quality

I thought he was worth keeping because last year I thought we always looked better when he played. Having said that the lads they have brought in look and sound the part. I dont think anyone has taken him yet this season which surprises me as he is a good league 1 player. Perhaps he is injured?

Which is exactly how it should be - the days of paying players off, or sending them out on loan where we may the majority of the wages are over. Time this club was run properly

Too old and too injury prone, doesn't fit the model of how Johnson wants to play

I would keep him then we have 4 good options for centre back (Doyle, Flanagan, Wright and Alves) - its a long old season and we are going to get injuries and suspensions and I really think he can play a big part in us getting promoted. We've overused him in the past and when came back from injury struggled last season especially when partnering 09.

As I say keep him all day but if he does move on there is no way on earth I would let him go to Wigan or another League 1 rival.
