Not going to lie , it tickled me . But I accept it could offend others , if the mods want to get rid of it so be it .

 

I was talking to a friend last night about a conversation she had with a fairly senior scientist who is currently part of the governments “global warming task force”. Apparently he said to her “I don’t really know why we’re bothering as we’re completely ****ed anyway - it’s way way too late to do much but try and help, but the whole thing is just a PR exercise …..”
It’s totally depressing …..

 

Sometimes you have to tread water (bad choice of words) and wait for the RNLI. Things change all the time...new discoveries can be just round the corner. A balance has to be sought between alarming people enough to do something and frightening them so much they give into despair. Would people have carried on fighting in WWII if they were told that there was no point and you might as well give into the Germans now? People have to have hope, so they go on looking for solutions.

 

Well said. We have no choice but to keep trying, as bad as things undoubtedly are. For all our children's sake, and their children's, we can't just give up.
