I think that it is the last 5 months of last season that has got us to this point. And last week. We just know that the moment we get ahead, we'll capitulate and lose.
Bit scared However, if we play an aggressive tight game, you never know. I wonder if he will play with just AA as the release? I really want Tino on the right wing ahead of KWP
I also extremely dislike OGS. To me, he is always so arrogant about Utd and never gives other teams any credit. Pep on the other hand always praises the other team even if they have won convincingly. OGS acts like a fan IMO and has no decorum.
4.00 pm saints bottom of the league with nil points and a goal difference of -13. That is my most optimistic outlook for today.
I'm not usually that negative but I fully expect us to get destroyed today, im just hoping it isn't anything close to the dreaded 9! FWIW to any punters - Manu win at a handicap of -2 is 3/1 and -3 is 8/1
Our biggest problem, as it is against most of the best teams, is when we push the full backs up and then lose the ball. The better teams always seem to target the space behind our full backs and have the ability to put the ball into it, which then drags the CBs out of position, opening up all sorts of defensive problems. Soooooo it is up to us to stop Utd from having the time to launch the ball into that space by being dirty, nasty, niggling bar stewards committing cheap fouls in Utd’s half to give us the chance to regroup. Other teams do it all the time.
That’s where you need the cover of a defensive midfielder And not to all run forward and immediately lose the ball of course
I’m attending my grandson’s 5th birthday party this afternoon so I won’t be following the game at all. On balance, I think I am OK with this.
Been for a 15 mile run this morning, now chilling out before heading to my first game in god knows how long. Fully expect us to get trounced, just don’t want to see us collapse. COYR
Pace is key today. And we have that. So, who knows. I’ll be very confused if Stu isn’t back in the team though.
Match day. Expecting absolutely nothing so anything better than that is a brucey bonus. Hopefully we can limit it to not too much of a humping.
Imagine how good we will feel if the lads pull off any kind of result today but realistically i'm just hoping for a positive performance for the whole match.
Keep 11 players on the pitch and we can do this. Players will be up for this even if fans not. With a bit of luck, I think our pace will cause problems, if we take our chances we can get our first point of the season.
I hope that the fans don't expect too much and support the team with a siege mentality. Surely it's just great to be back watching live footy and they might just make a big difference today.
