Really good showing from the 20 year old, absolutely ran the game both for Scotland and against Englands' midfield. I hope this might persuades Audi to keep him in the squad and bring him along as he has done with Mount Havertz and James, not just give him the odd 10 minutes now and again. He has always looked well above average, and looks totally ready to play in any team in the PL. Hope it's ours, not on loan somewhere.
Then there's Ampadu and Gallagher and Anjorin, what a fabulous group of kids we have.
Is there a striker lurking somewhere in our youth set up ???

I was delighted for Billy last night. He really is top class and with a showing like that should be staking his claim for a first team regular spot.

No one in the Chelsea line ups place should be secure and with that performance Mount will be looking over his shoulder.

I have been shouting out Billy's name for a while now. First thought was he the new Scholes, however his recent showings have put him in the Xavi, Iniesta, Pirlo bracket, not that there is much between any of them in my eyes. Billy is worth his weight in gold and some. We have a star on our hands boys, barring an injury this lad will be a legend.

He does not compete with Mount, and never will. They both will be the core of our midfield for years to come.

Bad mistake sending him on loan to Norwich. This lad is the real deal we must treat him like one of our own.

Norwich lose 5-0 to Man City and Gilmour is named man of the match, this kid is exceptional.

Really don't understand why he's not part of our squad, he's ready for PL, can already play at the top level as shown against City and England recently, and would surely be a shoe in for any of our midfielders at any time. Bring him back ASAP.

I think because he’s so young, we just want to give him a full season of game time somewhere else for him to get that on pitch maturity and experience he’s going to need with us.
I’ve no doubt he’ll be back and pushing for that first team spot next season. Don’t forget the lad is only 18-19!

Maybe Norwich is not the team, they've had 2 shellackings in a row and Gilmour was the MOM in the 2nd. He'll be knackered if he has to keep that up all season !!
Anyway, can't wait to see him back and playing like he, can for us.

The loan is better, they won’t get stuffed every week and I expect if he’s fit he’ll play. If he stayed at us he’d be fourth choice, he’d barely make double figures for appearances.

He does seem like the ideal sort of player to replace Jorginho in the next 2-3 seasons though.

Yep, he seems to have everything needed to do the job for us.
