Romano's saying the board are gonna try and offload fatso in the next 12 days but doubts we'll get anywhere near the £55m paid (no **** Sherlock!) nor will too many wanna match the £200k a week.

Michael Bridge has similar to what we've all been saying too, a loan or swap would be most likely.

surely going back to Lyon and asking for a refund is the best bet? <laugh>
If that fails, see if they’ll exchange him. 1x Aouar will do.

They must be pissing themselves with what they took from us.

As good as Aouar may be, I just wanna avoid buying from France for the foreseeable future. Been a horrendous market for us. Think Hugo was the last truly good purchase - and he was 10 years ago! Lucas has been a 50-50 one, outside of those… Capoue, Njie, Nkoudou, Stambouli, Aurier, Ndombele, damn painful, lol.

christ, that is a painful record. the only upside is that Aouar can’t be worse than Ndombele, so we’ve got nothing to lose!

One that’s come completely out of the blue, we’re supposedly close to signing Metz’s 18 year old midfielder, Pape Sarr.

Their president confirmed the other day he was flying to England to speak to three different clubs and judging by recent reports, the kid’s chosen us.

Fee rumoured to be €10m with €5m add ons.

You were just saying you wanted more players from ligue 1! <laugh>

typical Spurs purchase. 18 years old. £10-15m. Will never play.

Considering their sudden desire to move on a whole bunch of players for their poor attitude (which just so happen to be the five highest-paid players in the team...) surely there's a way to send either Aurier or Sissoko Lyon's way in a deal for Aouar?

Since none of us ha e heard of Pape Sarr, here's a couple of things to get the hype train rolling

There's also the fact he's completed as many 90 minutes this season as Ndombele has in two years...

    We can only pray.

I really thought this week would be much busier, with perhaps a signing announced. But there’s been absolutely nothing other than the usual “interested in” rumours.

Looking at the lengthy list of those that really shouldn’t be here, hopefully Paratici has got closer to shifting some, ready to flick the switch on the incomings next week.

Perhaps we’ll manage to get 3 out, and a couple in.

    Ndombele - “progressive carrying”.

    Of what? Extra body mass?

He rates himself more than most of us do. He is just an expensive Taarabt.

Yep. Will be another one to put on the mantlepiece alongside Njie, Nkoudou and Clarke.

Pointless punts on youngsters from vastly weaker leagues. The only one we've got right in recent years has been Dele and even that assessment is sadly up for debate.

Is that any surprise though? Ligue 1 is miles away from the PL in terms of overall quality. Even signing players from PSG would make me nervous as week in week out they are honing and refining their talents against piss poor opposition, which is why no matter how many billions they spend they always fall short in the CL when they actually have to face decent opponents.

Once you're looking outside of Spain, Germany or Italy you face a massive risk that tbh just isn't worth the time and effort.

I think we have to take responsibility for a number of them so I wouldn’t purely blame it on just being a league that’s different in style/ pace/ culture. We bought players we didn’t need, nor fit into our style.

Leicester’s bought brilliantly from France in recent years, Kante, Mahrez, Tielemans (albeit developed in Belgium) and Fofana have all been stellar buys and it’s not mutually exclusive to them either.

We just need to get better with scouting and identifying the right players. For many years we were really good at it, last 5 or 6… Less said the better. Hopefully Fabio puts a stop to the rut.
