If anyone agrees a bid with Dortmund, then they have to deal with Raiola. He'll guarantee that a bunch of clubs get involved, so that he can get the best terms for himself. Even next season, when the sell-on clause kicks in, the total deal will cost £200m+, easily.
It’s a condition that his 3rd cousin’s cat had its food paid for for the next 5 years? How does he get these ridiculous clauses into contracts?
Because he's smart, ruthless and couldn't care less about sentiment. He's also very sensible about his players' career progression, moving youngsters to the right clubs. If they can't get a move to the big payers, then they'll join the academy clubs, like Ajax and Dortmund.
I don’t believe that story one bit. Likely same nonsense as the Vertonghen and Eriksen wife thing or Aubameyang was gay and leaving his wife. Davies literally said in the press conference about how Kane is one of the best strikers in the world and “we definitely want him as part of our team”. I think if there was a bust up Davies wouldn’t be saying that, he wouldn’t say there was a fight of course but he wouldn’t be talking about how the team wants Kane to remain etc, he’d just evade the question or give a generic response the press officer would’ve recommended. Whatever issues Kane and his camp will have with Levy and trying to get a move, I’d bank on the fact he’s still very much popular and respected by the players at the club, many of these he’s spent a lot of years with and would likely call friends, not just teammates, so yeah, I definitely don’t buy this fight malarkey.
World Cup semi final, Euros final (losing on penalties) We won’t care one jot if he can replicate in Qatar what he did in the last two major tournaments.
Lewandowski wants a new challenge away from Bayern, but have valued him at £110m…. At 33 years old. Not the news City or Kane will wanna see! Levy must be rubbing his hands together. I expect he’ll return those missed calls today and tell them that he now values Kane at £250m “in light of recent events”.
Seems the whole world has looked at the Grealish deal and thought, "If an alright England sub is worth £100 mio then [insert name here] must be worth £100 mio + n. I must be worth a fair few million myself (see, even I'm doing it)
It was seemingly between him and Tomiyasu. The latter sounds the more primary target (especially now! lol), we’ll see if it happens. Still quite surprised Jerome Boateng is available on a free though, thought a lot of sides would’ve tried snatching him up.
Romero's arrival giving Dier and Sanchez a kick up the backside also has to be taken into consideration. A month ago we were happy to see the back of both of them, but their performances on Sunday were better than either managed last season Even a fortnight ago r/coys were talking of a Romero/Rodon pairing going forward, but with Tanganga's performance on Sunday instead it's Romero/Tomiyasu they're talking about
One swallow doesn't make a summer (I know, it does make a great night out) and it would be fanciful if they turned around seasons of poor performances. However quite a few managers seem to rate them, so possibly the right coach was needed. It will be fascinating to see those 2 progress. My hopes aren't high.
I think most would still be happy to see the back of them. One performance can’t overshadow a number of seasons of poor form and mistakes.
I agree, it is the players fault. The only counterpoint I would add is that they all picked (particularly Dier) very regularly, so they must have seen something in them
I think Dier’s a leader behind the scenes. Very well respected and he’s a warrior too which I’d imagine is something managers will love. He’s fluent in Portuguese and I think French too which can also help, especially with new signings and the fact our last two full time gaffers have been Portuguese. I thought Dier was brilliant in his first three/ three and a half years for us but after his illness and injuries he returned a shadow of the player, slow and error prone. Sanchez on the other hand has always been the same since joining. Capable of putting in strong performances but like Aurier often has a number of brain farts each season. Was hoping he’d have ironed them out by now.
Gotta feeling Kane is definitely staying now. We’ve ended interest in Vlahovic as he’s supposedly decided he only wants to join a CL side. City are now rumoured to be interested in him too, possibly switching their attention from Kane.
