My hopes for the season are to stay up, so I’m Not expecting much out of the majority of games this season. However against a thrown together derby team at home, I expected more. This was like the last championship season, we lacked any sort of creativity but that can come down to quality. We lacked quality in abundance tonight, we looked like a l1 side that found its level. Coyle was poor, I’ve never realised that klp isn’t that quick. I don’t rate Josh at this level but tonight he wasn’t given anything decent. I feel sorry for eaves, he’s so far out of his depth it would be cruel to slate him
Nah, sorry that's insane. Most managers don't survive one relegation, let alone two, regardless of who the owners are. I'll support him but if we're in the bottom three by Christmas, I don't have faith he'll keep us up and it would be better to let someone else at least try something new for the last months of the season.
I wonder how long it will be until The Allams tell us another unheard of person is interested in buying the club only for them to disappear without trace. It,s complete bollocks every time, they have no intention of selling whilst they can continue to pay themselves millions each season in interest on the Allamhouse loan that never goes down.
This. So, they faced possibly having to name a handful of young uns. So ****ing what, we have half a squad of them. Farcical from EFL, and sods law one of the signings scores the goal. Poor in every department. Massive improvement needed for Saturday or we risk being mauled. Not sure where the improvement will come from though as the last 2 games have exposed how much we are simply lacking in real quality and experience for this level.
First ten looked good, from then on very poor, let’s not forget we came up against a team with a 34 and 39 year olds in defence, how many times was they made to turn, it was all to easy for them. Concern for me is yes we could do with an experienced cb then Jones can move forward but we also need a good forward has well, the problem is will they be freebies nobody wants or young lads on loan, good forwards cost money unless we are very lucky. Unfortunately that’s the choice we have. Once Huddlestone came on he made you look at some of the others and think are you championship players. Overall disappointing night let’s hope things pick up because you look at the next two games and think it’s only going to get harder.
Smallwood is the biggest problem for me.... Slows the game down, not mobile. One dimension player that's way out of his depth.... He didn't play on our 14 game run last season....
Oh dear. Oh dear oh dear. Oh dear oh dear oh dear. the only positive thing to note was the difference when Hudd came on and we moved up the pitch. To see him pinging passes round again was a bright point in an evening of gloom. If we can’t beat Derby in their current state then effectively we’re back to where we were back in early 2020. A debate was had on the trudge home about when was the last home win we saw in person and it was against Birmingham in December 2019. When we still had Bowen and Grosicki and had delusions of a play off place. oh, and Curtis is a gent and wish he’d have come back with Tom.
Yeah I’d agree with that, I know he likes a tackle but I’d sacrifice that and put Tom in there and get the others to run round him
That tonight was absolutely terrible. We weren’t at any stage actually in the game, against a woefully poor Derby team that has been hastily assembled. Davies and Jagielka must have thought it was Christmas with all our aimless punts up front, it was like watching a mens side play against a boys team. There’s players in our side tonight that highlighted they are simply not good enough for the Championship, not their fault and I’m not going to single out anyone.
After tonight I can’t believe people on here questioned the signing off Tom. What have they been watching?
It just goes to show. They'd never have beaten us if they'd used their full name of Derbyshire County.
We are where we are. It's not a democracy. I hate it, but I lump it and I think the players in the shirts and management team deserve our support. Unlike Ehab, they have careers to make for themselves - they weren't born with a wealthy Father.
