I think he is better than Hayden. But I want someone else other than Shelvey.

Problem is Shelvey is captain. He never seems to get injured either does he???

He doesn't do enough to get injured. I want a proper midfielder in, not someone equal or very slightly better than what we already have

Maybe that's where he's going wrong considering we have a back 5

Yep, that space between the defence and the halfway line is where he goes for his 90 minute leisurely stroll

Pundits and Steve say that Shelvey does the hard miles. He covers the distance. But its not the distance that's the issue, its the quality of his actions and they are shocking. He literally went missing in the second half against WH.

If I was an opponent playing against him I would be happy as I know he wont come hardly anywhere near me. We really have the worst CM players in the PL.

This Choudhry stuff just keeps reappearing. It must have legs because its left field. I'm not convinced by him. He seems to have discipline issues.
That would involve running, tackling, trying. Its very difficult to get injured standing still, playing the odd hopeful 60yd worldie.

Huh? 4 yellow cards and 1 red card doth not make an ill disciplined player

His main issue is tackling and the fact he's **** at it. For a defensive midfielder that's a major concern

Have you see him on? He is wild in the tackle.

He had to apologise for offensive tweets at some stage. Variety of them too, said he had no sympathy for people who self harm or commit suicide, was ****ty about womens footy, and made jokes about black men running away from the police. Mind in his defence he was young at the time and I apply different rules once you're an adult and had time to develop mentally.

He brought politics into it after the cup final with his Palestinian show of support. No problem with his support for Palestine, what's it got to do with a FA cup final? Don't like that ****e, that isn't what your platform is for.

Rodgers had to leave him out of his match day squad to punish him for breaking COVID protocols too didn't he?

Yeah at 23 he's going canny discipline wise. I'm sure Matt Ritchie will be delighted to see him. His tackles on Salah and Bamba (U21's - very costly) were wild too. The kids a liability for me.

I have concerns about his distribution too.

Can’t help but think that him going for the £10m they are saying is a big mistake. He’ll get developed elsewhere under a proper manager and we will regret it.

Depends if we ever get a proper manager ourselves. Not going to regret a player being sold and getting better when he was not playing well for us. May as well just be happy for him that he got an opportunity under someone who knew how to use and improve him

Not really an excuse anymore with Jones there though. No reason he can't develop here now. I'd keep him.

Getting shot of Shelvey should have been done early doors over the summer, his feet are now back under the table. We should have signed a holding midfielder as his replacement, got Willock in. Then we could have used Longstaff accordingly along with Hayden to a lesser extent. All very achievable here but as usual we've shot ourselves in the foot for the 15th (or something like that) season in a row.

I struggle to blame the managers, they are scared to sell anyone for fear of who might replace them, if anyone.

It still all comes back to one man and his shoestring approach. Bruce is **** though.
