Without a doubt, the crowd’s chants on the weekend showed he’s lost a lot of respect and the fact we sung Tanganga’s name so loudly wasn’t just because of his fantastic performance in my opinion.
In other news, Bournemouth have sold a winger to Villarreal for £20m. So they now have the cash to move for CCV if they want to. Could be a bit more cash in the bank for us.
Football plays enough on your emotions without the need to become sentimental over individual players. It's hard not to like a player like Son who always plays with a smile and I respect the commitment of players like Lloris and Vertonghen and more recently Hojbjerg. The nature of a player like Kane is bound to include a pride in his performance and being selfish is part of the secret of his goal scoring abilities but my not wanting to see him at Spurs is purely football. I don't think the loss of individual players is ever as bad as it looks even when one as extremely gifted as Kane is the subject. Other player always step up and new ones appear. We lose his goals? Yes we do but we gain goals from other areas and there is no reason that we can't be a better team in the near future.
He’s had an awful time with injury to be fair, David Brooks. Would be a risk but picking him up as part of a deal for CCV could be clever. I doubt it’ll happen unless we shift other attacking CMs though.
It's the market. So stagnant and top heavy with teams all desperate to sell players who aren't very good at the same time as desperately keeping hold of their good players to sell them in a normal market next summer. The fact that our shortlist to replace Kane is precisely 2 players long and has been the whole summer is symptomatic of this wider problem. Quality and value for money is few and far between this year and tbh if Inter dig their heels in over Martinez that leaves us with a shortlist of 1. Which isn't a list at all, it's just a name. And that 1 player ain't covering the void on his own. Right now unless a truly eye watering bid comes in from City, it would be a madness to sell him. Forget not having time to identify targets. There are no bloody targets! And City, in all their pompous myopia, knew this from day 1. They knew the entire footballing world aside from them and 3 other teams would be stone broke. They knew the market would be stagnant and a replacement almost impossible to identify. They've had 2 months to alleviate this problem by submitting an acceptable bid. But they haven't. Because as PNP, HBIC and many others have pointed out - they exist to strengthen themselves by weakening all around them. They're not a sporting institution. They're a cartel. Simple as that. If we had any sense we'd do exactly what everyone else is doing and cling on to our most prized asset until things are a bit more normal next summer. And yes, that will mean selling Kane for a good £40-50m less than what we could get for him now. But in the grander scheme of what he's worth in terms of potential CL qualification, shirt sales and general publicity, honestly that money is spare change. Then next summer we sell him and if we have CL football go all-in for Haaland. Why not? Go head to head with Madrid, Juve and probably United and see what happens.
and the news today is that he’s got a new PR team as his brother is a total clown. Perhaps this is the start of some drip fed content over the next couple of weeks to try and win the fans back in case his move doesn’t materialise?
It is worth remembering that many a big player wanted out of their club and didn't get their wish, Gerrard from Liverpool & Rooney from Man U for example. If Kane stays beyond this window, gets us back into the top four with the new signings, it wouldn't surprise me if he sees the new opportunity he has with Spurs, and stays. Depending on how well we do of course. If I'm Levy, I'm betting on this. This PR disaster may well help. He won't want leave on such a sore note if it can be helped. One more season may work wonders. First full season in the new stadium with loving fans too.
Because we won't get him. His agent will want a billion quid and his wages will be extortionate. He's going to one of the Usual Suspects and even clubs like Liverpool and Utd will be priced out.
Nice card being played by Man City https://football-italia.net/man-city-talks-intensify-for-vlahovic/
Well, this is refreshing! Aside from not acknowledging that it's not because he is MR ENGLAND, it's anti-Spurs! Obviously Tottenham are beneath caring about. Plus, even some ex-Spurs players have been brainwashed to subtly hate on Spurs.
Fair play to Gabby Agbonlahor, though he could probably lay off the pies a bit. He's only 34 and he's gone a bit Alan Brazil already. What the **** do they serve at Talkshite?
He can occasionally come out with some decent takes, but most of the time, he's full of crap, like most of the TalkSport lot. He was saying earlier than in his 'heyday', he would have loved to play against this Arsenal defence and would have scored a few. He has come up against worse defences than the current group we have. He got 1 goal in 19 appearances against Arsenal.
I’d be happy if he turned down any bid and said he was going to force Kane to stay even if it meant leaving him to rot. But I just think it’s a simple case of the price isn’t been met and that’s the only reason Kane hasn’t been sold yet. The way it’s going, it could possibly go to deadline day. Problem then is Spurs will need to rush in a striker and that usually means sub quality
It was the lack of options in the market that forced us to fast-track Harry into the first team. Maybe we need to try the same policy again
this is where Paratici has to earn his money. If it’s going to be a game of poker until that point, Paratici must have someone lined up where it’s just the “T”’s that need crossing and the “I”’s that need dotting. this bloke seems to get rave reviews on social media, so I’m hoping he lives up to the hype. with the amount of incomings we still need, and players we need to shift, I’m far from convinced at this point. the window feels no different to any other, whatsoever.
