They don't know exactly how long he'll be out, as they don't know if he needs surgery yet, but they've said he's out for a 'long time'. No idea how long that will be, but I'm pretty sure it's not going to be two weeks.
What a goal, he barely has to lift his foot, the back lift is mad, must have unbelievable power in his legs…
We're actively trying to sign a striker. If McLoughlin goes, another defender will also be on the list.
so we're looking at offloading McLoughlin too now?? Personally don't like these extended windows. Should close before the season starts (irrespective of whatever)
We're not looking to offload him, but there are teams interested in taking him on loan. We only have four senior centre halves, which is why it's not really a priority but if somebody became available that we wanted, the option would be there.
I’ve seen universal praise for Hudd’s return, which is great - but how long do we give it before the moaning starts? This is City, after all. No speed, can’t run for 90 minutes, won’t share his hair bobbles with Eaves or Williams, you know the kind of thing (I might have made up the last one…)
Pleased he’s signed, well done all that made it happen. positive post, someone might want to frame it
I think he’ll play more than most think he will. He certainly wouldn’t have allowed that QPR midfielder with the hairband dictate in midfield the way he did on Saturday.
The fact the club have taken the option of a second year suggests he just might. I haven't seen enough to judge but the club have, so in Grant we trust.
I don't see how he'd have stopped him, mobility has never been Tom's strong point. Had Honeyman played, he'd have had a much better chance of keeping him quiet. I don't think he'll play much at all, it's a bit of a luxury signing and not one we can afford when we've got a limited squad size. We needed a tough-tackling defensive midfielder and the signing of Tom doesn't change that. Whilst Smith looks very good from what we've seen so far, that's probably not quite his role as he's got many other qualities and I am beginning to wonder why we signed Cannon. If we can manage to bring in a centre forward, I struggle to see how Tom will make the 18 when we've got a near to/fully fit squad. We'll have a keeper on the bench, a full back, a centre half, Smith, Moncur, Longman/Williams and the new forward.
I'm surprised there's been no mention of loaning Fleming out. He's taking up a squad place but when Elder was out, Emmanuel came in. I know he's struggled with covid, but he'd be one we could loan out and not worry about replacing. I'm sure he'd have plenty of L1 suitors too
If McCann was right, then he's struggled with Covid to the point its gonna affect his fitness for a while. Don't think it would be good for either club or player to send him out half-cocked.
He'd still be miles better going out and getting games even if it takes him a few weeks to get fully up to speed than not making our bench. He's already gone too long without playing, another season not playing doesn't benefit anyone. Same applies to McLoughlin
