To be fair over the years I’ve given as good as I’ve got with Spanish so no beef there. Truth be told I do want us to get relegated this season to prove him wrong.
It will be 0-0 till the 89th minute, then Bonne will airkick a cross from Edwards. But as we all have our heads in our hands in despair we all miss the cross continue bobbling into the net. We score again in injury time and we celebrate a hard earned 2-2 draw.
Hladky - Salford City KVY - Colchester Edmundson - Rangers (Not good enough for them) before that Oldham Athletic Burgess - Accrington Stanley Coulson - Middlesbrough (Loan) - Doesn't look to have played first team footy for over one year. Harper - West Brom. Good signing. Evans - Wigan Athletic Burns - Fleetwood Town Fraser - MK Dons Edwards - West Brom. Rejected by two teams before agreeing to join Ipswich. 37 first team games in the last 3 years. Piggott - AFC Wimbledon. I thought you told me you had been signing quality players and this was the best squad you have had in a long time? It's just lads who have played in league one and league two. Why are you expecting to do much better this time around?
Charming, again. You are definitely the most emotional person on this site Don't be so scared of outsiders, I'm only here to talk. Don't get so defensive about genuine questions, they don't bite. Talk to people like adults and you'll see people will treat you with respect back. I shouldn't need to explain this to an apparent adult.
Nothing wrong with being emotional and this is the best squad we have had in a long time, if you don't like or rate it, so be it
When you lay it out like that it may not look that impressive but many of these players were hunted by Championship clubs or have dropped down to join our project. We have picked up some of the better players in League One and beaten other League One teams to their signature, or taken them from them, thus making them weaker. I jokingly called it the Bayern Munich method the other day. Spanish is right that this is the best squad we have had for a while, the previous one had been on a downward slide for several years. All our team needs to be is good enough to get us promoted and then we will change the budget and plan for the next challenge
What about players like Gwion Edwards who you released to Wigan? I've always thought he looked a good player. He certainly looked the part for Wigan in the first game of the season and scored a canny goal against us too. So, if this squad is to get you promoted, would you be looking at another overhaul for the Championship?
Cook has a habit of clearing the decks and starting again so most of the old team are gone. Not so much about replacing old talent with new talent but old mentality with new. Anybody who's a manager and has had to build a team will know that it is far easier to create a new culture with new staff than to try and change the habits of the old staff. And I didn't say this was the team to get us promoted, I just said all we need to be is good enough. That might not be this team yet, we are only one transfer window into a rebuild. We have been told by the new owners that we have a budget for this league and then it will be looked at again on promotion so no, I don't think we would have another big overhaul of players but instead spend larger amounts on two or three that will make a difference at Championship level.
