Did they ask when he was leaving because the fans wanted him out?

Correct. I remember the club, banning Brian Taylor, only they told him at a service station half way home from Cardiff, ( we lost 6-1) and he was travelling on the club bus. No local radio in those days. The HDM gave Taylor a bollocking, they kissed and made up and normal service was soon resumed. No-one batted an eye lid. David Bond was constantly banned.

I think this could have been a perfect opportunity for RH to really improve their quality of reporting etc... Last seasons commentary on ifollow showed us what a good quality commentator and "expert" summariser really is and how much of a difference it makes to the game.

Burnsy has been great in the past and obviously has a passion for the club, but I think the last few years he's made it way to personal and it shows and as for swanny... The less said the better!

Is it time swanny was gone full stop and burnsy just concentrated on his weekday show?.... Probably best all round and then everyone can move forward with Hull city back on RH

I can't remember exactly what they said, I wasn't really paying attention as I have no interest, but they were certainly giving him a fairly hard time.

Every summariser was way better than Swanny (which isn't difficult), but I think the commentator on our iFollow is nowhere near as good as Burnsy.

I'm pretty sure RH will have offered to get someone else to do it if it got them commentaries back anyway, but still weren't allowed.

I personally did think he was better, but that could have been because of the quality of the summarisers with him perhaps? Would be interesting to know the reason why RH continue to roll out swanny season after season...I'm guessing it's just because he's cheep

Membership holders got streaming for all home games free of charge. That’s a very odd accusation.

Was he the one they took umbrage with for the headline " Top of the charts Relegation Blues by Cliff Britton and the Easybeats" or something similar?

I enjoy the commentator on there who concentrates on informing you what you want to know, which is what is happening on the pitch, and not what he and his co-commentator got up to the night before, what they had to eat and drink etc. Each to their own...

No, that was one of the better 'Sportsmen Say' letters. Brian was banned after sending in a particular bad report, which he rang through from the match so it was ready for the Green Sports Mail. By the time the team bus had reached a service station mid journey, Brian rang home, or someone did and were told to thrown him off the bus as he is now banned.

Oh for a reporter of his quality nowadays. When you think of the ones that have been inflicted on us, even in the PL when the most should have been made of it. Like Stonehouse with his obese carcass enveloped in a rugby shirt informing us City were considering an experimental 4 4 3 formation.
Not to mention James Shields, fresh from bulling up KR who were playing in front of 2,000 crowds at the time. A Sheff Utd fan showed me an article a while ago where Shields topped the poll of who was the worst sports reporter there had been on their local paper.

I think Baz Cooper has the makings of a very good reporter.

Remember Fieldhouse at an away game walking across the car park, looked like a pile of mashed spud with a pea on top for a head. He was looking round as if saying yea it's me John Fieldhouse, who's gonna talk to me.
    Fat useless over blown twat.

Sorry Howden. Are you referring to the bloke who commentated on our matches last season. He is and was garbage. If not, I apologise for getting the wrong end of the stick.

ifollow I think it was better then RH. Maybe that was more the summarises that where used as opposed to the main commentary. But for me the whole package was better then RH and showed how par they are and especially swanny... Just my opinion.

Burnsy is by far better. Has a more descriptive vocabulary and you can visualise events on the pitch without video when its him on the mic. Swanny was a good foil for Burns as far as rapport was concerned but didn't think much to him as a summariser. The game has changed immesurably since he was involved yet everything seemed to come back to how it was in the 80s and 90s with him.

It's a journo's job to ask difficult questions and the guy on I follow is just a cheerleader, which I don't particularly like, but I do like Bryan Hughes as a Co-commentator and I quite like the way they rotated the summariser - though this season there hasn't been a co-commentator on ifollow, which makes the commentary even less inspiring IMHO.

Burns had a duty to his listeners to ask the questions they wanted answering. McCann's inexperience and the ****show on the pitch led to him becoming defensive and taking Burns qestioning personally. It wasn't and he needed to realise that at the time.

Fair points, maybe it was the overall package of them both that made it better with Me, would be nice to see burnsy with Hughes or mayler etc
