Silly boy. Hardly crime of the century though so wouldn't expect much of a ban.

Not gonna lie, I’m the first one to call out people’s bigoted views but digging through a person’s tweets when they were still an immature kid nearly 10 years ago and opening a formal investigation over it is ****ing pathetic.

The precedent's been set though. I guess now that every sportsman who wrote something stupid in their teens will need to do a penance and serve a ban.

I guess it serves as a warning to be careful what you post on social media but it's ludicrous. I've never met a teenager who hasn't behaved in a dickish manner at some point.

    No one is innocent.

Social media has a lot to answer for. Twitter is full of vile, abusive rubbish and obtuse illiterate content, yet it gets through without censure. Much easier to trawl back 10 years and crucify someone because they are a minor celebrity. Pathetic.

Crime of the century? These days, I do believe it is.

But trawling through past social media posts, going back at least eight years, is mind boggling. And raises the question, why?

We all say stupid things as kids , it shouldn’t be dragged up , if I became famous now though I’d just delete all my social media and start fresh ones as this is happening a lot .

Yet the FA perpetuate the problem by charging him for something from 9 years ago, ****ing ridiculous. And I thought the kneeling would have stopped for the start of this EPL season, nope wrong again. the FA is a joke.

I'd like to know who does the digging through years of social media stuff. Is it individuals bearing a grudge, or do people just look for dodgy stuff then see if the perpetrator is well-known enough to be worth embarrassing? Either way they are very sorry individuals.

Money, fame, influence. That's why. One person has it, another one wants it.

Personal politics is secondary to this. Its a sad state of affairs.

When I was at sea and onboard a passenger ship
    I inadvertently slapped a croupier’s rather lovely
bum. She turned around and nearly took me off
my feet with her slap. I was 26 at the time, pissed
as a bloody newt, neither an excuse but these days
I’d get arrested, charged with a sexual crime, maybe
jail time and possibly in the papers. God I’m glad
I’m nobody, mind when my book becomes a best
seller this could come back to haunt me. Keep the
post and if you lot can make a few quid, good on yer....

Bob Dylan may be in a spot of bother too, accused of sexually abusing a girl in 1965.

Yes,apparently a girl of 12 at the time.

Without being ignorant of flippant, why has it took 56 years to bring this up.Surely if he's accused of carrying out a 6 week campaign against a child,it would've and should've been flagged up by the child or her parents at the time?

Children were often not believed, even if they did tell parents and the sheer number of legacy cases in the past few years with Savile, Bennell etc. shows how they were unable to speak up at the time.

On the documentary "Football's Dark Secrets" one of the victims told how he did find the courage to tell his dad who glared at him then returned to his newspaper as though he hadn't heard anything. It's shocking how that can happen but unfortunately it does.
