Great morning for England, India net 28-3 with Kohli gone.

 

Wonderful form of the game Test Cricket, and Root should be decorated, and not with Emulsion

 

India net 154-6, didn't see the afternoon sessions but tomorrow could be a belter, weather looks fair too.

 

They need to get Pant out quickly or he could push the total up to a level that might be tricky.

 

I think therein lies the result of this game. New ball too, which could mean wickets tumble or alternatively the ball goes around the park. Get him early, I fancy us to win (though it is likely to be difficult on a wearing wicket is going to be tough). An hour of him batting, we're likely to be hanging on for a draw. Fascinating pre-lunch session.

 

After a great start getting 2 wickets India are starting to take the game away from England, lead is now 223 with 2 wickets left and Mark Wood is off injured.

 

Well, this is another test we won't win. Lead at lunch is 259, 2 wickets still left. A draw is the best we can do but Kohli could even risk a declaration and go for the win although I doubt he will. There'll be some criticism of Root's tactics but regardless Bumrah and especially Shami have batted superbly for nos. 9 and 10.

 

They (no's 9 and 10) showed a lot of bottle, but bloody hell we let them back in. As soon as Bumrah came in. We got too wrapped up in the barracking etc. I thought it was a massive lack of discipline.
I know Indians aren't going to bowl like that, we could have a battle on to save it now.

 

Stupid tactics .. let them off the hook instead of sticking to tried and tested methods .. another captain's masterclass of tactical stupidness .. and then we have the usual pathetic start of our innings. Best we can hope for here is scrape out a draw.

 

Both openers are gone for a duck, what a shambles. Root has to try and do it again, today has been shocking so far,

 

Just been out for a couple of hours, switched on to see this shambles. They really do deserve the bollocking of all bollockings.

 

England high order batting is a disgrace.

Butler & Moen are our last hope. I'm not too confident they have the patience to see this out but hope I'm wrong.
