Not arguing tgat. Although if you see a quick break and it goes slightly wrong then so be it. It wasn’t “bad goalkeeping” which caused the goal IMO. It was good thought badly executed. Seen it happen hundreds, if not thousands of times from far better keepers than Burge. (Allison, Ederson, De Gea, Pickford to name 4). There’s no point jumping on a player for that.

he was the difference between a narrow win and a comfortable win, but also the difference between a narrow win and a draw. Yet the “anti-burge” brigade will ignore the saves he made after his mistake and focus solely on the error

I've had Roger on my case again, so I'll say it as it is...

You keep coming here poking and hiding behind multiple socks. It causes me grief, in fact I believe you've been at it for a while now. Constantly having to waste my time to intervene.

So here's the deal, start playing ball and be a nice guy for a change, or I'll bin you off for good.

If it's none of my business, which it's not really, then call the rottweiler off @Makemstine Roger

When somebody constantly and delberately causes trouble/disruption, and somebody defends and encourages that disruption then regularly 'goes crying to the teacher' the teacher has to make it his business, unfortunately.

<sorry> that they've made it necessary, brb.

Sadly there's people in life who enjoy the anonimity of a keyboard. I imagine there's be many less WUM's and cyber bullies if it was a legal requirement to display your real name

Onien would’ve got booked for dragging Robson to the ground!! Which is exactly what Neil should’ve done. There’s so much after the roll out which also could’ve been better.

He’s there to make good saves, that’s his job.

But what separates good keepers from bad ones, is the amount of mistakes they make. And burge makes them A LOT.

You could put me in goal, and I’d make a couple decent saves, but I’d also cost you a goal or 2. The same as burge, because we are not very good goalkeepers.

    Delighted with the 6 points.

I just want to get out of this division, and with this guy in goal, we won’t.

If you think otherwise, happy to have a £200 bet with you.

Thought the one in the first half where he came out to the edge of box was a bigger error and their forward knocked it wide and highlighted his poor decision making.
The roll out was poor but we still had plenty of opportunity to defend the danger.

If we are going to play a young back four i think we need a composed assured goal keeper to talk them through the game and give them confidence to simply play. I don't think Burge is that keeper.

But you could have the best keeper in the league and still not get promotion because of other players. They are all making mistakes and very little is said about that. After Burge had thrown the ball out it came back past 4 defenders who you can say should have stopped the attack.

I slightly disagree. By coming out he made the forward have to think about controlling the ball, the defender and the rushing keeper.

If he'd have stayed on his line i hazard a guess the the forward would have tried to control the ball and shoot rather than try a 1st time flick

The goal started with his mistake, the same as many others that cost us.

68th Minute Lee Burge save meant that we won 2-1 and NOT draw 2-2

In the first pic you can see that Burges' presence has already made the forward decide that he has to try a first time shot by his body position, he had our defender beat and if Burge had stayed on his line he would have had tried to take a touch first.

Burge makes himself big and gave the forward bugger all target to hit.
