Luckily there are no reports linking us to Cahill, but you'd think Palace would want an experienced head like him to help Guehi and Andersen. It really makes you think how much Cahill must be asking for. Fair enough if you rate him, I was concerned there was a possibility we were actually in for him.
[ They decided they couldn't pay him what he wanted, as they didn't have a manager at the time. The thinking at the club is that they wanted a manager who could help install the new push towards working with younger players with resale value. Saints have that down, but just need a place filled for a season. Ralph does like to play with a much higher line than Hodgson, we did accomodate Vestergaard though.
They are also at a time where they absolutely had no choice but to do that. High salary squad in a lower placed team full of very old players. I think they probably had the oldest first 11 in the league last year. Viera is overseeing the mother of all rebuilds there and it’s got to be nail biting for those fans.
Sorry but I cant agree with that, haven't seen today's game but what I saw of Leeds last season I was very impressed with him.
Rumour has it we are getting relegated . Same source says that a lot of fans will actually ENJOY , the football DOWN THERE …..
Delaney on the way to Sevilla for around only 4m Euros apparently. Has the world gone mad? Why oh why are we not signing him?
We really should be all over that, especially at such a minimal price. We so need another CDM, and we so need an experienced head. He ticks all the boxes and at that price surely it's a no brainer to go all out for him!? If he's going to anywhere other than the PL we can compete financially too.
In fairness, if I was Delaney I think I'd rather be playing for Sevilla than Saints. Bigger club, better team, champions league, decent chance of trophies, plus you get to live in sunny Spain rather than England! No brainer!
Footballers don't think like that. Say Sevilla are offering him 50k per week, all we have to do is offer him 50k plus 1p, and he'll come to us.
