Think he'll be understudy to Geads, who won't play every game

Had a chat with my, 'source', basically told me nowt, loose talk costs lives etc (ex military) all cards are being kept close to the chest any leaks and that person will be fired. Lots of irons in fires etc..

Will not take anyone on just to make numbers up...

But a huge amount of work being done, to land the right players... if some have to come in January sobeit !

More to come I think , still three weeks of the transfer window to go so plenty of time to bring in the players WE WANT or rather who the management team want . Patience will pay dividends .

  7. Music mate, just music! At long last we appear to have an intelligent, cohesive plan to rebuild our club from the very depths. It’ll take time, but we’re on our way!
    Love Sunderland me!!

They didn't, we won, we were the better team ;) :D

Thing is though, we are looking to fill spaces we're short in.
Some are looking at us as not good enough whilst players fill positions, I'm looking and thinking we are good enough and will get much better when we do fill those positions.

Love our new owner. Was quickly more excited by the reality, than any of the possibilities that had been touted before he was announced. It's honestly the dream, isn't it? Supremely well-connected, sexy, football-born billionaire takes over.

Think a huge number of fans are (understandably) underestimating what his being from the D in ABCD, really means in terms of our new stature. In a very real way, the culture he's bringing is a step above e.g. UK government. They're at that global level where organised crime would want their approval before acting. They literally keep the world fed.

I loved Kevin Phillips to bits but he is quickly losing my respect , he appears to have appointed himself as the chief SAFC spokesman and appears on so many forums and web sites , having never managed he is now telling Lee Johnson how to do his job ,enough is enough . He needs to calm down and back off , LJ and the management team are a lot more experienced than him so shut up and let them get on with their jobs .

I have to agree in a roundabout way, I don't usually post long explanations but here goes.

There's a massive difference between this season and last which is energy. Last season we had Leadbitter, Maguire, Wyke, Power, Jones, etc who, for various reasons, lacked dynamism. For Leads it was because he simply doesn't have the legs, Jones is the opposite but just couldn't be bothered. At times half of the outfield team was made up of this type of player and, to make matters worse, O'Nien's energy was wasted by him playing at the back.

This season we could have virtually an entire team made up of players who can put in an effort, run and make that count against the opposition. I say 'virtually' because I'd never expect McGeady to be tracking back all game when he can occupy at least one, usually two, defenders simply by lurking near the half way line. In that kind of set up you can afford to have the likes of Winchester at full back because he'll have an action man, like Gooch, to help out. The left side will always be a problem because of McGeady but we need to learn how to live with that. Hume is a good player, imo, but a better attacker than defender. I don't see that as a major problem because we can only win by attacking, not defending.

A team with energy won't always beat a slower better team but they'll win more often if they have the skill to go with it.

Once Embleton is sure Evans will always cover his back he'll know he can make those damaging runs. Once McGeady knows he has Pritchard to come on he can run himself ragged for an hour or rest an injury properly. Gooch will have a fraction more time to get his head up which will improve his game no end, what a massive shame that shot came back off the woodwork.

Watching Sunderland lose isn't ever easy but watching them being outrun and outfought last season was gut wrenching. If we play like we did against Wigan we'll, at least, be able to say we gave it a real go. I never want to go through another Wembley washout and think this team would've put in a much better effort.

Marco slowly eroded his legacy at Sunderland with his comments and gripes.

But it was his total lack of research and knowledge that finished people off ...

... Phillips is heading the same way imo.

all good, viable points there smug...how many times have supporters complained about us being over-run in the middle, had no control on the game etc which more often than not resulted in a hoof?

if saturday (and the friendlies) are anything to go by then we finally have central players who know what they are doing, along with that energy we should have more control in games, our only 'weak spot' is possibly LB at present but i feel that the fact wigan decided to target that area made it look worse than it is, dan neil doing a sound job currently...of course, getting a 'proper' LB in will hopefully stop teams thinking that way.

I agree with all that and would add I thought we were good enough for promotion if not for injuries and the fact LJ came in mid season.
The dynamics have changed and the players look more up for it now.
The attention to detail and positive tactics should see us in good stead.
I'll be shocked if we don't go up this season but I won't fault the effort.

WAS ! Time to move on , he has too much exposure and now he is trying to tell an experienced manager like Lee Johnson how to do his job when he has no management experience which can’t be right . I am sure that I will not be the only person that thinks he is being over reported .
