Lord Gyllene posted this on tomorrow (wednesday) thread Wolverhampton 1.00 Hooflepuff 3 time CD winner who returns to Wolverhampton on a good mark. Up in trip and a visor replacing blinkers could unlock some improvement today. Shrewed yard often does well in these kind of races at Wolverhampton. Will be interesting to see if there is market support for Hooflepuff. Actually runs today....10s into 7s
The Nottingham 2.25 Race has seen support for the twice raced Typewriter. The Balding filly has been 4th on both starts. Her first race has seen the winner and 3rd both winning since. Her next race saw her upped from 6F to 7F and she ran a similar race in that she was beaten a little over five lengths. I don't think the form is strong though and I am not keen on horses quickly being upped in trip again, with Typewriter up to 8F today. That suggests the Gleneagles filly has not had the anticipated pace for her earlier targets. Taking on colts today, I can pass at odds of 6/4. Flaming Lord has stronger form in my opinion. He has progressed with each start and earned an official mark of 76 after getting off the mark on his third attempt. Further improvement upped to the mile might make him quite tough to beat but others could improve also. Migdam is a newcomer from the Stoute stable. By French horse Zelzal, I have seen it said that Flaming Lord sets a good standard for newcomers to reach but plenty 2YO's win with a rating over 80 and it need not be an insurmountable figure of 76 on official figures. Likely to be better for this race though and he's very weak in the betting. Euraquilo ran on well after a slow start last time after having some trouble getting a clear run. He looked like the mile will suit and he's close to the best of these on bare form so far. I thought he has the most scope and I backed him at 11/4. 2.25 Nottingham Euraquilo 11/4
Euraquilo seemed to hold every chance from a good position but didn't pick up and then weakened. I don't think he has come on at all from his first run. There was a day you could set your watch by James Fanshawe getting good improvement from his horses but he's not the force he once was in the game. Almost flipped to backing Flaming Lord when he hit 11/2, as that seemed a huge price but it didn't matter with the favourite Typewriter getting the job done with a performance of about 80 I would imagine.
