Xhemajli isn't going to be in first team until winter. Flannagan won't be starting if a new challenge cones in. It'd a case of needs must at present. You can count Wright and younger as numbers if you want to but neither appear to be going to start league games anytime soon.Whether you like it or not, Flanagan, Wright, Younger and Xhemajli are part of the first team and can't be ignored when assessing the squad. Flanagan is clearly 1st choice alongside Doyle. If Wright goes, he will be replaced.
You say Stewart is the "only one up to it" but Grigg and O'Brien are alternative options and the way we play doesn't need a lump like Wyke winning (losing) headers - Grigg and/or O'Brien might well have shown the same movement as Stewart for the penalty although I'd concede neither would have scored the goal Stewart did
