I would not have been stupid enough to forecast his scoring so many last season. But he did. And I have learned from experience, not to play the guessing game. If you are right, then it was obvious. If you are wrong, then you look foolish. I rather like the quote attributed to Dennis Thatcher. 'It is better to keep your mouth shut and look foolish, than to open it and prove the point' And your assessment can not be argued with, but I would still take a '30 goal a Season carthorse', IF that total could be more or less guaranteed, over a highly skilled 15 goal a season man.
I liked Bendtner. He was a very good player. Without the voice notes and simply as a player, he was decent.
Good luck finding a carthorse that can regularly do that, he has had his one flash in the pan season. I would prefer the regular 15 goals a season skilfull player that can help the rest of the team contribute
Am sure it was MON who said something like "he's a very good player.......not as good as HE thinks he is mind you...."
He tended to drift out wide too much for my liking. Got in the wide players way on more than one occasion. Get in the box man!
Aye, we used to scream about that all the time I remember. He was a good player though, got grief cos of his personality. He was a good player. Kid went to Juve!
Maybe we'll see his like (with better attitude) here again in a few years...... assuming we get some full backs by then that us
I always believe people afraid to voice their honest opinion a little cowardly, especially on an anonymous forum. As for your Dennis Thatcher quote, that's more likely what his wife said to him before any public engagements (Seriously though, that quote originated in the Old Testament and was subsequently attributed to everyone from Abraham Lincoln to Marcel Marceau.)
Everyone mentioning Bendtner's attitude, other than here snippets from managers about him being arrogant and the wing mirror incident, did he have a bad attitude on the pitch? I thought he gave his all here, which given his reputation wasn't a guarantee.
All fair enough. But I remain convinved that making a prediction about the future, particularly when it relates to something that, as last season showed, can be very unpredictable, is not an opinion, it's a guess. But it's fair to say that I can not recall criticism being aimed at me, ever, for holding back on coming forward with a my opinions, when I have them. As for the quote, I always use Dennis as the source because it is just so him.
Him and. Cattermole. I heard a lot of people say it was actually a group of the young players did it and Catts and Bendtner took the blame to keep them from the spotlight. No idea how true it was mind
Offered me a white collar boxing match over messenger on twitter which I accepted, after that he never responded
