"irrelevant". I assume you're aware of his personal circumstances and a) the potential effect it has had (my italics) on him, and b) the reason why we seemingly are close to signing a highly rated youngster on a permanent (my italics again) deal, rather than a loan?

As with most teams as long as we don't go behind the atmosphere wil be good. If we do go behind a few will let frustrations of last 18 months and preseason out. Imo

Him coming in is great.... if it happens. My point was some here justified late signings saying they'd fit right in and results wouldn't be effected. That clearly isn't the case.

I think its due to years and years of football anxiety and depression. Ive been a supporter since the late 80's and there has been very few seasons where we have been settled in a mid table, that'll do me, win some, lose some, mentality. We have either been going for promotion or on the cusp of, or suffered, relegation disaster. Throw the drudgery of our recent time in the Premier League into the mix and you can see why the fans can be a fickle, stressed, angry bunch. 3 or 4 seasons of mid table Championship football should be our first aim. It'll probably do the fans a world of good before having to suffer Premier League football again.

So why do they turn up if it’s just do boo? That’s not support.

I can’t believe what I’m reading last few days or weeks, people slating the new owners and the whole regime for having the Gaul to run the club correctly and not throw money after ****e to tick boxes.

We still have a bigger squad than most of the league, that’s not being considered, we have a 5 star rated academy feeding, that’s not considered, just that clubs have signed more players nobody else wanted than us?

Pritchard and Evans are absolutely above League One. Sheff Wed have signed and retained a few who are. As a whole Wigan and Ipswich have very much signed League One players.

The young lads that we have, many of them ain’t young lads as such, they in their 20’s they are good to go.

Players back from loan are like new signings too of course, couldn’t play for us last season.

I’ve been at games when the boos have started 2 or 3 mins in. How is that useful? I’m not saying if you have concerns sit and eat ****. Do it after the game. In the right manner. Don’t take that into the stadium.

We may have players who ability wise aren’t what we are used to but as long as they put a shift in they deserve support.

If someone offered me a job I couldn’t do for crazy money I’d take it. I’d try my best to do it but I’d likely come up short.

This applies to footballers. The clubs been far too big for many over last 3 years strikes me the new ownership are trying to get that right. Pritch from Spurs via Norwich, Evans 50 NI caps from Championship, the LB from Spurs, Doyle from City.

There’s some prestige there, yet people kicking off cos we haven’t signed players from League One who have remained in League One? I guarantee this Spurs lad will have Championship offers so if we lose out that’s not on the club, if we get him it’s magnificent. Will credit be given? Yeah, by the people who always give credit where due.

well unless he's injured he'll have a full pre-season with his club, after a summer break, so I would expect him to be fresh as a daisy, certainly able to play in a competitive game, its not as if he's been sat on his arse all summer.

In my opinion they turn up to support the team. No safc supporter wants ti see the team lose. I just see people taking setbacks in different ways is all.

He's not played pre season so u think we do know that and If further signings haven't played they'll need catch up time for fitness. They'll also need to learn their team mates names!

Player signs for League One club.

Sunderland’s name is mentioned to make the signing look even better.

So, if they take setbacks in that way then they spread that out and it becomes a big issue.

I’ve said so many times a lot of the poison starts on RTG and Twitter and I’ll bet half of them don’t go to games anyway, but they’ve bred the anger.

You can spot someone who hasn’t been game a mile off on a forum, as you can see the lads who don’t see off the ball work and such. You can only partially see that on TV and you can’t see at all if you don’t watch.

A lot of social media uses react to other peoples opinions and spread it, and as we have bigger support and engagement it’s more damaging to a clue like ours.

Its not just football of course. We’ve seen it with brexit and with parts of the region turning ‘blue’ in the elections.

Often the loudest voices don’t even know what they’re shouting about.

Fraser will prove their best signing this year IMO. I’d be surprised if they weren’t automatically promoted.

He has played pre-season, although not extensively. And I'm fairly certain Tottenham have a reasonable fitness regime for all players, not just first-teamers. more "if's" and "buts" I see......
