If his aim is to earn as much as possible and he knows he is injury prone .

Then how can this end in tears for him from a personal point of view ?

And that’s how it should be. I’m truly pissed off with him now. Don’t care if there’s crap between him & Saints; he should be saying something nice about us, even if it’s lip service. Jeez.

Surely it is different . Jack came through their academy and has only played for them. Ings had 3 seasons with us

Nope, not in my books. To say thanks for all the adulation over the last 3 years would have been nice & I think deserved.

I take your point, mine was more about there's more to life than just money, AV doesn't seem like a career move compared with the elite of the PL. So ok he gets his paycheck for a few years but he's not exactly gone the fashionable route we'd expected. Like others on this board, it would have been a nice gesture to the fans, (not forgetting the club that took a £20m chance and provided a platform for his present status), for a few words of appreciation etc like others have done recently.

If we signed Lukaku or Haaland, however…

OK, I`m going to go for it - I`ve been drinking ! - the level of twat is directly proportional to the level of tattoos - Ings therefore was a twat. JWP - no, Stu- no, KWP- no, Oriel - no, et al . I rest my case.

This! Yes he was the best striker we’ve had in a few years but he’s not irreplaceable.

We just need the board to pull their finger out and get someone decent in.

Good points. I wonder how Ings and Pelle goals/assists compare?

Pelle had 11 in 30 in his first season and 12 in 38 in his second season.

Ings is much better on paper and technically imo. (And I love graziano as much as the next man)

    Thanks, still fairly similar.

Whilst I agree that Ings is better, outputs are outputs and not much to choose between them, other than one season where Ings was on fire.

Yes I agree it wouldn’t have hurt , and would’ve been appreciated if he’d said something nice .

It’s a bit sad that another player has left the club and the club have not done much of a statement about it, and Ings also has not had anything to say about the club. His statements have all been about Villa and their ambitions, making it sound to me that he left as the club has no ambition. Either way seems like there was a falling out at some point, probably not helped with RH calling Ings out when he said about being a club legend does not appeal any more.

I'm only guessing but I think Ralph's legend comment was after he found out Ings was going
