Not bad for a non league side. We are probably twice that for a newly promoted Championship club. Hardly impressive is it ?
Wouldn't swap though, and we've had worse. Plus Grimsby have new owners making the right noises, for now.
City should be looking at 10,000 pass holders though for a club our size and on the back of our recent 15 years or so. My point was to those saying we should be doing this that and the other then post they don't go home games and won't go near the club ( except when we are playing Chelsea) whilst the current owners are there. The club cannot budget for much when we/ they have no idea on how strong our support is or will be. That is my other point, third being we hardly look attractive to any potential buyers with such a piss poor fanbase.
Failing us finding a buyer, the Allam family should be take a step back and let an experienced football CEO run the club, and give them free reign. That said I should have six numbers on this week's Lotto.
The figure a while back was 5,121 then the Club were saying we had sold another 1,500? It's not great but there are still furloughed workers and some un-vaccinated fans waiting to see if they need vaccine passports? Has football in general suffered massively due to covid or are we exclusive in the slump figures? If we are struggling to find 6-7k in the Championship then it's poor!!! £15 per match with a membership is a no brainer,as opposed to £25-£30 picking out individual games...
If and it's only an 'if' people don't want to pay their hard earned money to the Allams, then this is where we are. It's just a fact of life. There are well documented reasons why people don't want to go back, 'yet' and I'm sure I don't need to go through them again. Oh go on then." I won't go back until the Allams have gone". And no, that is not an excuse, it is a reason! I and many others will not go back until the Allams have gone! It's impossible that you don't already know this. What more can we say that hasn't been said already? Do you honestly think you can make us change our minds? Oh and by the way, I didn't go to no ****ing Chelsea game. Premier league fans did, but not me, I didn't even check the result until two days later.
I'm not falling out over it kempton or looking to score points. I just find it difficult to understand why you are so steadfast in your views and are so reluctant to support the club at the turnstiles, where it matters, whilst the current regime are paying the bills. I've absolutely detested a couple ( could me more) of our previous owners but it has never stopped my supporting my team and enjoying the day out doing so. Just basing facts on the time you spend and the interest/opinions you post on this site, it's obvious the club means a lot to you. But not enough to add your support to the shirt and badge ?
OK so try this... If I were a policeman or a Tommy and was asked to shoot a protester in the street, I'd lay down my gun. I have my beliefs and I'll stand by them until something worthwhile changes. Urika mate. My Dad supported Hull City for seventy-five years and the Allams told him to "Earn your stripes". What more do I have to say?
Deciding to shoot someone in the street isn't quite the same as denying yourself your football for something an 80 year old man said 8 years ago. The 'earn your stripes' was a badly advised marketing strap line to get you to join the membership scheme and earn loyalty points.
Good job he doesn't live in some countries with that attitude. The Earn Your Stripes was insulting to a lot of fans, yourself amongst them.
It really is a 'funny' one. I too have lived through many of those previous poor owners. Somehow it's different this time. Although I detest the Allams (as owners of our club) .... did you gather that ..... I'm personally now somewhere in the middle i.e. not a total boycott, but on the other hand not returning as a ST (card, thingy) holder either; just going selectively when I want. I can easily understand and accept both views (Kemptons and those that say support the team not the regime). Incidents like 'earn your stripes' in and off themselves are maybe not massive (at least to me). As said, a marketing blunder, which should / could easily have been rectified with an 'oops, sorry for possible offence, got that one wrong'. But it was a conveyor belt of **** you's from utterly arrogant, lying, twatish owners. They are still arrogant and are still liars, but at least the conveyor belt seems to have slowed down. It probably takes some doing for those that ignore the Allam **** and just continue supporting the team. Fair play. It equally probably takes some doing for those that still love City but cannot bring themselves to attend whilst ever the Allam's are still involved. Fair play to them too.
If I were Tom I’d sign on any wage cos let’s face it if it goes tits up this season he could be in the managers chair by November! I’m usually positive about us and competing but I have serious doubts this season about most of the squad
The name change was the big one for me and ****ing with our badge. Once they backed down so did my resentment towards them. I’ve realised over the last 18 months how much I miss live games. Can’t wait till Saturday.
‘Earn your stripes’ can also mean ‘shoot someone in the street’ in parts of New York and New Jersey, according to the Sopranos.
They’ve only really ‘backed down’ from the name change in the last couple of weeks though. Yeah I know they’d gradually changed but the website seems to be the actual backing down as far as I can see. It was only a few months ago that the club was still answering the phone as ‘Hull City Tigers’ then wondering why people were already negative towards them
