The promotion and relegation is what makes the whole of football exciting. What a load of ****e. Someone best stand up to these owners before money ruins the game. What a absurd notion. What the **** would there be to play for!!!!!!!!!!

Assuming the rest of English football stayed the same and only the EPL went tits up, I think Blyth Spartans, Whitley Bay and Gateshead etc. would find themselves another few thousand fans!

I'm guessing it would be like Rugby League...

I think Rugby league (correct me if I'm wrong) looks at a lot of different circumstances e.g. attendances, the size of the stadium, how well the team are doing, financial aspect of the team...I'm sure they take into account more things but I can't think of any off the top of my head.

Badly. Thankfully it'll never happen. The fact is the owners want to protect their investment by having a situation where they can't lose. The best way to lose money in football now is to get relegated, remove that factor and you've got a great way to make money. I don't think they've anticipated that the fans will find it completely moronic. Even fans of clubs who are favourites to get relegated will think this is ****ing daft.

"Last Wednesday, Liverpool's managing director Ian Ayre also said the Premier League's overseas television revenues should be skewed in favour of big clubs".

Anyone catch this little nugget at the end aswell, what a dick!

Remember that old Budweiser advert? It came out when they first started sponsoring English football (I think) and it was about how they'd Americanise English football.

    I'd want that.

    Edit: Found it <laugh>

Basically the twat said he'd like all clubs to be able to negotiate their own TV deal, because big clubs like Liverpool, Man U were missing out on revenue in the current system where it is spread evenly across all clubs. They seemed to half claim that because Spain operate this system, the likes of Barca and Real were at an advantage. Bullshit of the highest order. Barca are so much better because they've wisely invested their money in their terrific youth system, and the youth coaches rather spending way over the odds for players!

Yeah ****ing awesome idea eh. Let's copy the deficiencies of La Liga and further extend the gap between big and small, rich and poor. ****ing numbskull, someone needs to spark that **** out, really pisses me off that.

That's our problem right there. People in positions of power who don't give a **** about football, only the money that comes with it, how sad.
