Luke's just being on the telly. Sounded like he's having a good time looking after his kids. Well deserved retirement. I recall him walking around the kc showing off his gold medal, think at half time vs Brighton. 1st game of 2012 season. So proud of a Hull boy doing well. Great guy.
A smart move to retire now. Good to see a boxer making his own decisions and not being overly-influenced by managers and promoters. Good luck to him.
Once a boxer has made his money, he should retire ASAP. Its a stupid game. Well done Luke, it's the right decision and you have nothing to prove
He certainly made everyone if Hull proud, a great ambassador for the City and an outstanding career. Good decision to get out, and have time to enjoy life.
It's great to see that he's still level headed, and has his priorities right. Others have shown how easy it is to get sucked in to all the media hype. Full credit and respect to Luke, and I wish him all the best for the future.
He has been a massive credit to himself, his family, to Hull and to boxing. He was so desperate to get that elusive world title and had to take on true legends of boxing and fell just short each time. Ironically he was probably at his peak when he suspended his career because his dad (his biggest fan) was terminally ill. His dad turned out to be an even bigger fighter. so it was a prolonged break. That division is still full of exceptional boxers, so has to be a good decision to call it quits.
