Wait for it ... or if you can't fast forward to 7:30. This man ( Ben ) runs a very good Youtube Channel on The Championship. He's a Preston fan but has a non-bias towards his team or any other. He's very knowledgeable about The Championship and covers various topics from rating kits, to stadia and squads. I'll post a few of his vids below. QPR content 9:09
Here's another YouTuber who does Championship stuff even though he's an Ipswich fan. I like the way he does his predictions, and I think, that I agree with him ... hopefully. It's worth listening to, how he reaches his conclusions if you listen to the first six minutes and then jump forward to 38:30 if you want to hear the QPR bit. It's still worth watching the whole video in my opinion.
Amazing job Marc Bircham is doing at Waterford with 16 points from 8 games he's set to pull off a miraculous escape from what looked certain relegation...
Official news of Warburton signing https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/mark-warburton-agrees-new-qpr-deal-050821/ MARK Warburton has agreed a new deal with QPR. Warburton joined the R’s following the 2018/19 season when we finished 19th in the Sky Bet Championship. In his first season at the helm, he guided the club to 13th and that was followed up with ninth place in 2020/21. We have improved each season, we are in good shape but now we have to keep building. MARK WARBURTON Share Over the past two years, the QPR boss has also assisted in a major overhaul of the squad. Warburton said: “I am delighted to have been given the opportunity to continue the development of the squad and to work with the staff in taking the club forward. “We have improved each season, we are in good shape but now we have to keep building. “Going into my third season here there is a very evident expectation which is testament to the players for their strong finish to last year. “That now sets the bar. We have to push on from there. “We are in a very privileged position to work in football and we must work hard to justify the faith of the Board and the supporters.” QPR CEO Lee Hoos added: “This new contract is fully deserved. “Over the past two years Mark has worked tirelessly to move the club into a far stronger position, both on and off the pitch. “The manager deserves enormous credit for the part he has played in building the squad we now have in place. “The supporters are enjoying the football and, just as importantly, they are proud of the players we have wearing the QPR shirt.”
Great news, but the article doesn't state how long the contract is for! I would like to hope at least a two year deal has been agreed.
I noticed that. A bit strange. However, I suppose we shouldn't be expecting the same conditions that footballers get. Manager contracts are probably quite different.
Stefan Johanssen QPR club captain for 21/22 season, official: https://www.qpr.co.uk/news/club-news/stefan-johansen-named-qpr-captain-050821/ STEFAN Johansen has been named as QPR’s new club captain ahead of the start of the 2021/22 Sky Bet Championship season. The 30-year-old former Norway skipper takes on the mantle after recently completing a permanent return to W12. Lee Wallace – who signed a new one-year deal this summer following an impressive campaign with us last term – will be vice-captain. This is a special honour for me and it comes with a responsibility. STEFAN JOHANSEN Share R’s boss Mark Warburton told us: “We are very fortunate to have four senior pros in the squad in Stefan Johansen, Lee Wallace, Charlie Austin and Albert Adomah – and in Stefan and Lee we have two players who have captained their clubs and their countries before. “I am delighted to have Stef as my captain and he will be ably-assisted by Lee as vice-captain, while Charlie and Albert have an important role. “It is crucial to have leadership in a dressing room, and even though we have a young squad we have a group that contains real leaders. “The impact they will have on the younger boys from a mentoring perspective is really significant. “We all know what Stef and Lee give us on the pitch, but how they act off the pitch is just as important. In terms of how you play, how you train, how you deal with adversity – they know what it takes.” Midfielder Johansen is already hugely popular among R’s fans and spoke of his pride at being named captain, adding: “This is a special honour for me and it comes with a responsibility. "It is not going to change who I am or what I do – I am going to keep doing the same things.” Johansen believes culture and confidence are vital for a team to be successful, but says humbleness is also key. “The culture you have is the key to any success,” he explained. “We need to believe we are good enough to win games. There is a fine line between arrogance and confidence. We must be confident but humble. “When we win games, remember what we did to win those games. When we lose, be honest with yourselves and your team-mates. Why did we lose?” Johansen is a vocal member of the team on matchdays and is happy to let players know if their standards have dropped. Equally, he has no issues being on the receiving end of such comments from team-mates. “This group is brilliant and has a special togetherness,” he said. “Everyone here understands how important it is to take criticism from your team-mates when it comes. “Of course it is nice to get compliments because it gives players confidence and that is why criticism needs to come in the right way. “It is never personal, it is always for the sake of the team. “People can shout at me and I know it is never personal. We just all want to win so badly and if things aren’t right, then people need to know. “So people like myself, Charlie Austin, Lee Wallace, Rob Dickie, Yoann Barbet, Albert Adomah, we have to say these things when we see them.” As Rangers ready themselves for the season opener against Millwall on Saturday, Johansen says their mindset must be right from the off. “You can get carried away if you win a few games, and you can be down and moody if you lose a few - that shouldn’t be the case,” he added. “The ability we have in this squad is very good and we know on our day we can go toe-to-toe with everyone. “Mindset is what brings consistency – and to be successful, consistency is the most important thing.”
Just received this from my pal in the scouting team at the club - he's over the moon as it's one of his "discoveries"...
Grandfather Squat can announce that Queens Park Rangers supporter base stocks rose by one this afternoon. Another grandson ( now six in total from two daughters and son ) has entered the world and l'd swear he mumbled, 'Goal!' as he contemplated his first weekend supporting the R'rsss. All are doing well but grandfather Squat needed a quick G & T to settle the nerves.
