Just like to add re: Younger - the fact we are offering him a new deal despite him still having a year on his deal, and not waiting until the end of the window, is really encouraging for me. Shows an attempt at proactivity. Indeed his deal is still only for this season but now we have an option to extend it. One would presume he's agreed to this as he's getting a pay rise he wasn't expecting. Hope the same is happening for Embleton and Neil.
That's pure speculation from you, RR and whoever they've been gossiping with ... ... and it certainly isn't LFC. "Been talking to people with their eyes on the Gallacher deal from the Liverpool side, and they were shocked .... blah, blah, blah." It's just another forum or fanzine, not Jurgen Klopp.
Believe what's written, not what you choose to see. Roker Report are on one side and someone is on the Liverpool side ... ... just another self elected 'journalist' typing away in his bedroom.
Ab Brilliant news this, our brightest prospects are signing on as they can see a pathway to the first team.
There's a huge amount if if's or this will happen or that will happen from some. Only facts are were still well sort. We have until end of august but 15! Points to play for and 2 cup games before then. Everything us talk until the scalf photo is on the website as proven by today's events. I just hope we get positive confirmations of quality new players and soon.
Hell man....this is money driven pro football! If every club who ****ed around or pulled out of a deal made a Corleone like enemy....the bodies would be Gherkin deep! These clubs know what goes on...they operate in this world..indeed,instigate most of it.If next season,it suits LFC financially to do a deal with us,they'll do it. No-one will care about anything in the past.
while this is also true, what we have been led to believe is that the deal was all but done and while medicals have shown problems or agreements cannot be reached the reason is usually referred to at some point...this has (so far) come across as we simply changed our minds. this is why i honestly hope the club make some kind of announcement and the presumed 'other target' is more or less already signed or the present rumblings of discontent by some could explode, there are many speculations already and unless there was a bit of a 'mutual agreement' in there then liverpool could well take a moral high ground on any future deals we may go for. while not exactly 'making enemies' it will not cement future friendship either...but then, in football everything changes when cash comes into it i guess.
Transfers were really bothering me until today, MK Dons all booked up and all arrangements sorted. Just so happy to be back at the games. Especially the aways.
Think our dealings with LFC in the past, Henderson, Borini et al will stand us in good stead over a deal for a kid they obviously think isn't up to their quality and were prepared to let go. Our fans over think our transfer dealings and imo the transfer windows are a pain in the arse and should be done away with. The club know we're short of players and will be working overtime to sort it out, whether that's happens remains to be seen.
New contract signed. https://safc.com/news/team-news/2021/july/ollie-younger-new-contract Edit: Thanks mods for merging this
I think you're right mate, business is business but it's in everyone's interest to remain civil. Sunderland are producing some good young lads and clubs like Liverpool are always looking ... ... and remember Newcastle sold them Andy Carroll and they didn't fall out
I see @Hawyatt Earp over the road is saying that some people behind scenes not happy that this one has fallen through. Definitely suggests to me that there isn't an agreement with another LB lined up. Would love to know what is going on.
From the outside it certainly looks like that. As supporters we can only hope it's not the case on the inside and we see quality and quantity iminently. Looking like a whole preseason with no senior full backs. Can't remember that at safc before
How on earth can you make such a comment without knowing the reasons for the club's actions? Why are some folks determined to undermine the new regime before they have even started? Or perhaps you would prefer to have Donald still at the helm with his proven exceptional skills in the transfer market because that is exactly what you deserve.
To be fair I'm sure the new regime didn't plan on the squad being in this state at this point of pre season. Somethings up. We likely won't find our for a bit. Desperate for quality in key areas.
