Bore off you prick ive already explained in doing that would be a risk and we need proven quality now. Ffs theres some right nob jockeys on here today
I find it strange how people are being knocked back for commenting on where we are with recruitment right now, yet the fortune tellers are saying we are going after much better quality players than the rest of those teams in league one. I mean those disappointed at the current state don't know what's going on, yet others can read KLDs mind
Jesus, pot kettle black. I haven't once insulted you, yet your immediate response is 'bore off you prick'? Sums it up really, and tbh sadly.
Imagine the fewm if we'd signed Deli Alli from MK Dons back in the day? Ellis Short and his lack of ambition etc
Because to me it seems like your taking the pish. Ive explained in a previous comment i dont slate League 2 players, i just think we need players we know can step up straight away and not take time adapting to League 1 like Winchester has. I apologise for biting at you if you were not trying to be funny. It all boils down to ambition and id jist like our club to show some. If some of our fans are happy to see us pussy foot around getting promoted then thats fair enough. All i know is the longer we are in this league the more our club devalues.
I think with just over a week to go constructive criticism is fair. We're in our lowest position in our history and look I'll equipped to gain promotion as it stands. We van only judge on actions not ifs and maybes of the future. We're nowhere near good enough. If that changes I'll be extatic, will give praise where it's due too but we're not there yet. No evidence of it too until you have a scarf photo with signed up players.
Yes that was a risk well worth taking. How many have failed though? Would you be happy to see us buy all of the best players in League 2 then wait and see which ones turn out to be a success or bring in proven players now! Was Ali not bought into the Spurs team slowly? We need players that make an instant impact, how can you not see that?
Appreciate that, wasn't looking for bites at all. But from my point of view, any league could have players that can instantly make the step up, as they're far too good for the league they're in. I don't see it as a risk if said players are standout performers in their respective leagues.
Winchester was a standout player though, thats my point. He could suprise us all next season and be amazing now he knows the league, but any player that steps up a league needs to adapt. We havent got time for that, every point this season could prove to be vital and thats what makes it so disappointing we play a Promotion rival a week on Saturday and we STILL have a sh#t loads to do in the window
Many of us wanted those types of signings. Was obvious we couldn't get Ali at the time as was clearly off to spurs. Our problem was always buying plodders not players with potential. Even when we bought from lower down it was Buckley and bridcutt with no sell on or scope to.improve. supporters want change but do far this summer it isn't here.
That's fair, but we can't expect to attract Championship players in their prime either. If a 'plodder' means they're 30 + and looking for a last gig, then there's a chance. Otherwise it's a case of taking advantage of the loan market or grabbing the best talent from other leagues. As I said before, we're not in the Prem anymore. We don't have the same pull.
Gallacher permanent rather than loan (as was the original rumour) announced tomorrow or Friday. £75k. according to some chap on RTG - TDalt Would quite like it before Friday as I want him to play. But perhaps it will be announced Friday even if signed tomorrow as admin loves that ****.
I wouldn't want same profile signings as we've ad in the past. We've already signed Evans and Pritchard who are similar in profile to previous signings. Doyle another prem loan we need these in our current position. Feel we need to cherry pick under 23 players from leagues 1 and 2 with experience who are of good standard and improving. Key I'd great example of this but you need to pay for potential. Seems we want it on cheap. Nothing wrong with negotiating but 4 bids and still not accepted seems extreme. Surely they gave an indication of what they wanted. It's lower league so transfers should be simpler not as complex as pogba or Kane would be to sign.
Wow 75k we are splashing the cash now like seriously though great it's not a loan as if we want him we should get the player in. Wish him well and hope he's a success. Mind don't count on it until I see the scale pic. He certainly fits profile I was expecting. Hopefully we see a few in together.
OK the same guy has now admitted it should be taken with a pinch of salt as its come from a source who has been wrong before. Why do people do that
how do you know they aren’t? You also can absolutely get out of this league that way, as numerous teams have proved. you also don’t always get what you pay for, and we are the proof.
