I just watched the game on motd2 and I thought we did pretty well.
Rosicky and Arshavin looked good, so did Gervinho.
    RVP was ****ing amazing.
We made one mistake at the back, but Szczesny did really well to save it.
Other than that, I thought we pretty much domintated the game.
With a bit better luck, we could have won this 4-1.
(and some people would no doubt still be complaining)

  7. Well Murray I believe it was set up as a public forum. The only aspect about it that is not public in that sense is that you have to register to post. As I believe it was intended by it's owners to be a successor to the original 606, then in keeping that that board's requirement for registration, this forum is as public as any board can be. As such free expression should be the order of the day as long as such opinion is offered politely and not intended to offend. <ok>

I believe you're mistaking "public" with "open to the public". Common mistake. Unless this forum is owned and funded by the users, it isn't public; it's a privately owned forum which is open to the public. And unless I'm mistaken, Jayram and the rest of us don't financially contribute to this here forum. ;)

It's the same deal with any moron who starts shouting about his right to freedom of expression and to free speech, seemingly oblivious to the fact that these concepts don't exist on privately owned forums. That we have these things (which I believe we do, given the amount of leeway the mods here seem to give Jayram) is a courtesy, not a right. And it's one which the aforementioned user abuses, IMO.

Anyway ... in summary; not a public forum. Open to the public.

  12. It was a trying game. Looking back on the Sunderland matches of recent years, we've either just sneaked victories or drawn with our opponents. They don't appear to be a side that allows us to show our best. However these days, we don't exactly have much of our best to show.

In the early part of this season I said I would be happy to take the next 11 matches at 1-0. TBH I'm not but at times one doesn't have choice.

And as you said in another reply, we couldn't have done it without RvP. If we let him go anytime soon, we won't be deserving of much.

  13. I think your last remark should be the pointer this club ought to take... building as we go along. Then hopefully the confidence will return. To help in that though, we need certain aspects of our game to be addressed and it can't come sooner too.

I think we are trying to address the areas where we've struggled to be fair. <ok>

yes we have made changes - but in a cheap half-hearted fashion.

We didn't buy a keeper when we had shocking errors going on match after match.
We didn't buy a CB when we had shocking errors going on match after match- then made do with that Manu retiree,
    followed by Squishy....
Now we COULD have gone for Cahill, Jaggy etc- but couldn't find the extra £4m or so.
yes we've struggled - struggled to understand whats going on in Wenger's head.

Still a hatrick for the u21's is great going, fair play to the lad.

Cheers, need to win the next game and get another 3 points because weve got Chelsea away coming up and that could be very difficult for us.
