Cooper, Houghton, Wilson, Scarr, Edwards, Hardie, Mayor, Grant, Galloway, Camara, Jephcott.

    Subs
McCormick, Gillesphey, Ennis, Randell, Rutherford, Law, Waruih, Craske, Pursall, Mitchell, Tomlinson, Shirley.

I hope Ryan Lowe doesn't think that is our strongest attacking force.

So.....James Bolton, Callum Burton, George Cooper are all on the injured list....and they would possibly all be in the match day squad.....we don't need anymore injuries the squad is looking rather thin of experience.

    Argyle...0-0...City...H/T

Reasonably even game....maybe City have had more possession.....Argyle still giving the ball away at times.....but playing defensively quite well.

Mayor showing some improvement and provided at least two scoring chances....probably the best chances for either side

    Argyle...0-1...City.....Weinmann...54mins.

Cooper earlier had saved a penalty that he had given away....Cooper had bundled over a City player.....which I think was the right decision.....but made amends with a very good right handed save.

Even game....Argyle didn't do much wrong....but did look better when Ennis came on.....we desperately need an experienced striker that can play with Ennis.

Defence looked okay and looked even better when Gillesphey replaced Galloway who didn't look so positive today.

Overall a good performance.....but hard to say what our strongest team is.

Torquay away on Saturday....but will cost £10 to watch.....I don't think so against a Conference team.

Seems Bristol City had a few first teamers playing lunch time against Exeter....which they won 4-0.....so have a big squad.

There is as we know quite a gulf in class between the Championship and League One. Given that we have played 3 of them and only lost by the odd goal each time. So, no hammering this time around and some good experience and fitness achieved. Reasonable return I'd say.

"Mayor showing some improvement"........ really? I would ask why you think it's fitting to continually single him out each time. There are 11 players in every Argyle side put out and Mayor is but one of them. He isn't Lionel Messi who incidentally makes errors for Barcelona. He does seem to be the whipping boy for a faction of the supporters which is totally unfair.

Reading messages from Mayor supporters is why I mentioned it....many of them were disappointed with his form in the friendlies this season.....but yesterday he put a few good moves together.

Fot all the hype he gets his form has been a worry....lets hope this is the start of a good season for him and Argyle.

Slightly off the beaten track with this but here goes anyway. Rory Fallon. He used to get a dogs life from supporters for not scoring enough. But Mickey Evans didn't. They were very much the same sort of player where they won the ball in the air a lot and flicked it on. Mickey was one of our own so of course he got a lot of leeway with the critics. Fallon wasn't. I used to wonder why Fallon got all the stick and yet even though he flicked the ball on, that's winning it in the air in football speak, yet nobody else got stick for not getting on the end of it. Great strikers like Tommy T anticipated a flick and often arrived at the right place at the right time to do something with it. Because Fallon didn't have a Tommy in front of him he got the blame for nobody else scoring. I now come back to Mayor. He does a mazey run and puts a ball into the box. If nobody scores then it is his fault for some reason and not the people who should be in the middle. Why? The one fault you can have a bit of a toot about is his own finishing. He has a tendency to take one touch too many before letting loose. Basically he is trying too hard and needs to just let the shot go quicker. But to pick him out and say his form is poor is very harsh. He is great to watch even with his flaws.

I agree with you. I'm sure as hell not many fancy playing against him

A bit quicker to shoot but also a bit quicker to pass sometimes. Take the easy pass and get into space again.
