Not many clubs in football are making operating profits and the fact that we are almost there without player sales means we are in good stead for the future. Makes me feel all warm inside.

This really Is good news for the club and they are saying there is a transfer kitty there for the future.

Things really are looking optimistic at the moment for us geordies so lets enjoy it while it lasts.

It states excluding player trading so in real terms add £25m to the 09/10 figures and £25m to the 10/11 season (caters for the fees for HBA, Tiote and Perch)

In real terms it looks like a £10m loss each season if the operating losses were £30-35m........

Spent £13.5m this year and recieved about £11m.... that doesnt cater for fees we would have shelled out for the free transfers though so if the numbers are right then Ashley has been losing money. If we are expecting a £4.7m loss excluding transfers its probably worse in that based on what we have spent on transfers and agent fees this season.

It says on the BBC article that it excludes player trading.
