I hope they throw the book at them, smashing up peoples property and cars. What is wrong with people these days.
Whenever authorities say " lessons will be learned " ! You know they won't, and will sweep it under the carpet till next time ! The toerags grow up seeing how weak our laws are so have no fear of them. or of it's 2 tiered policing and lower quality enforcers in the job in these modern woke times ! Short sharp shock hard labour is unheard of any more as a deterent of getting banged up ?
The Police need more powers - they should be able to smash these scumbags in the face without fear of reprisal.
Maybe we'll see the rise of vigilante justice as decent people's only means to fight back or protect themselves.
They will react if the agenda suits and if enough of the thug gang are together for selective 2 tier violent policing ?
Why do they need more powers ? , there are enough on the statute book to more than cover the events of that night, perhaps they should try using the existing ones .I'm not excusing the rioters by any means but the Police didn't exactly cover them selves in glory either.
You're right. It's more a case of what looks more acceptable on social media. Hence they can't actually do much apart from dance in high heels.
SWP is o poorly run it is incredible, it was on the way backwards for many years and since I retired in 2011 it seems to have accelerated. To be fair to most officers on the street they are flat out and good honest people. The problem is the ones running it, they are no longer police officers and everything done they consider the political fall out and will change how things are dealt with by the demographic they are dealing with. To say there are more police officers working in offices than on the street is an understatement. Plus some have been there so long they don’t know how to police anymore. It is the few doing a lot of work to keep a lot of officers with a little bit to do. Needs completely knocking down and starting again.
I know a few former policemen. They all would endorse your comments. It seems to me that real, respected Coppers’ Coppers, like Allan Rees () and John Williams () - I knew both well enough to be considered a friend - don’t seem to exist any more.
I have a few friends who work in the Police, and they all tell me the same thing - that they'd basically like to grab the scumbags by the back of the neck and teach them some manners, but know they'll end up in trouble and possibly lose their jobs. The scum know this and that's why they don't have much fear of the Police. It's become that way in schools to an extent hasn't it ? I remember being pinned on a table in school by a certain teacher - he would most definitely face some kind of action these days. I had no problem with it - sometimes brute force is what's required with some pupils.
Officers are blighted by complaints, which the senior officers will not back them up on, mobile phones which will only show a portion of what has happened at an incident and that portion is the bit that will show police in a bad light, lack of support from within and from many members of the public. What I will say as well is that sometimes officers don’t help themselves there is good and bad within every force as within every job. The worst thing they ever do was employ PCSO which alarmingly halted the number of officers recruited and they can only do a quarter of the job. As I said before needs knocking down and starting again, with real police officers making decisions not political puppets like we have now
In my honest opinion, they should lead the way by putting a Coppers’ Copper as Head of the Met…. and then roll out the same approach across each regional force, whilst at the same time doing away with locally elected Police and Crime Commissioners who are often politicians like Alun Michael.
