Yeah he seems to want to do it ( wouldn't anyone) he will do it if Quickstep are still going and they want him.

Am I reading too much into it that Philipson, a Belgian came left to block Cav's route down the centre of the track so that two Belgians protected Mercyx's joint standing in the stage list. Probably, knowing how the sprint stages are as much instinct as anything else, but four stage wins this tour for Cav, immense!

Not sure if that is the case (re Mercyxs) although they do stuff like that for teams. Cav is not well liked in Europe as they think he is arrogant (flash) because of his celebrations… although they never moan about their own riders? I think he just got boxed in and couldn’t get past as there wasn’t enough room.

    Anyone watching.
As a 63 Yr old cyclist I am mesmerised by the incredible performance of these men.

For example, Waout Van Aert posts his rides on Strava.

Today, just under 198km in 4.5 hrs with an average speed of 43.9km/hour - 27.4mph.

Anyone whose cycled up a moderate incline, even with a decent bike, know how hard that is. These guys are cycling up inclines of between 10 and 24% for many kms at a time.

    Herculean efforts!

If you've never dipped into cycling, watch the hour long highlights on ITV. Might get you interested.

...and they do it for three weeks!

As a 39 year old cyclist my best performance has been a 16mph average over a 65 mile route. World Tour cyclists must be some of the fittest athletes on the planet, mind blowing efforts!
Despite how the look, they're absolutely nails, too. Didn't Thomas ride an entire stage with a broken hip either last year or the one before?

Yes, after a crash they ride on with all sorts of injuries. Could teach footie players a thing or too.

Good speed for you over that length of ride. <ok>.
