Did anyone land on Morikawa? Fair play to him as he kicked on and took it out of his opponents hands today, Louis is beginning to look more and more like Lee Westwood as time goes by, luckily he already has his major tucked away under his silk pillow case, for a guy who appears to be in total control of his game and getting up into the top 2 or 3, he can't seem to follow through when push comes to shove. Another good showing but considering he was - 12 on Friday, you couldn't help but be dissatisfied with that weekend effort.

No luck, or anywhere near it on my side, I did manage to nominate the low amateur in Schmid but he was likely short enough given his profile and he is one to look forward to watching now as he turns pro. Schmid also managed to equal Tom Lewis' amateur record scores of 65 which was also recorded at Sandwich.

Not sure this Open captured the imagination like some, from Friday it seemed like only 4 or 5 players were in with shout to win it. Well done to Morikawa though, a great display under the pressure and he really did close out the open.

Personally, I felt that the course was too easy (for pro's and top amateurs)

It seemed to play like the "target golf" that we see often at the perfectly manicured US courses. There was some decent amounts of longer roughs but fairly easily avoided most of the time.

Maybe it was the weather - I associate links golf with rain and blustery wind!

Thoughts of a crap golfer <laugh>
