I agree. There is risk and their is risk as I said and for many things the government have been ****ing stupid.

Vaccinate all teachers. Send kids to school. The vector of infection is far stronger from adult to child than child to adult.

Same for 95% of retail. The only danger in it is transport to and from it.

We are being denied things because the majority dont seem to get it's their own actions that are stopping it.

Even at its hardest people were still partying and having fun and games.the consistent level of spread shows this.

The issue is we have now 4 or 5 waves of evidence plus many countries who have shown that lockdown is like a finger in the proverbial dyke.

Unless we drain the water away the minute you take that finger out the water pours through.

Normal cant be normal until the vaccines.are used properly to suppress this and frankly international travel is actually paused.

Imo it is a big deal and kids are taken for granted.

There are some refreshing severely and others are suffering anxiety as they take the thing really to heart an amplify their parents worries or otherwise.

They are missing out on meeting other kids and learning how to interact.

Sorry the other was regressing severely.

To tell you exactly how far off you are and how little of a clue you seem to have would require actually telling you about real life experiences and I dont want to be telling all on the internet.

There are plenty of kids very badly affected by removal of school and their services

All three of mine have missed lots of school.

Eldest is about to turn 14 and going into crucial educational years...

Second born is about to move up to secondary school, he'll be placed in certain groups based on performance over the last year or so...

Youngest is only seven but is only performing at a five year old's level...

Missing any education is damaging, no matter what the age. Once behind, it is a very steep curve to catch back up, every step of the way effects the steps that follow.

The average is a lot more than two months.

When all schools were off because of lockdown, school work was sent home but it was never the same amount or level of education, it was a diluted version.

When bubbles are sent home, it's a big two fingers up to those in isolation because teachers concentrate on those in school. Very little is sent home.

Only bit if credit I have is my eldest maths teacher who took it upon themselves to install a camera so kids at home could log in and do the lesson. I've literally got nothing else positive to give!

Sorry but to suggest or hint that missed education won't matter too much is either arrogant, oblivious or just plain stupid. All three of mine have MASSIVELY suffered!

    Similar,

From either being level or ahead of where they should be, all of mine are now working towards age expected levels.

But more importantly its driven them nuts not seeing other kids. God forbid what it must of been like if you had no siblings.

See my last post. My eldest two were both ahead, both now behind. Youngest was in par, nowhere near now.

i fail to believe that it is that big a deal missing 2 months schooling at age 5 but everyone has extrapolated that reply out to suggest that i was saying missing education never mattered which i most assuredly did not .

    You clearly dont get it.

My original point was about socialisation. I suggest you go do a bit of research into the thing.

This just isn't true... so... in the time where the NHS usually catch up in a normal year... they are yet again changing operating rooms to icu...delaying all operations again up to and including cancer ops... and if the numpty idea of transmission based herd immunity actually works ... without creating vaccine resistant variants... the NHS go into winter looking at dealing with a huge backlog, a flu season and possible variants...

These being the human beings, not robots that have been working to the ragged edge and beyond for 18 months already..

Aye, sounds like a good plan as opposed to using a phased approach over the summer , while getting everyone vaccinated that it's safe to do so and opening with a vaccine based herd immunity and hoping we did it in time to make sure a variants doesn't develop to bypass..

This if not now, when crap is pure Tory guff.. they don't give a **** about people, they want the NHS destroyed so they can privatise it and get all those juicy contracts for their mates....

They are selling a shaft to stupid marks and yet again people buy it..

We deserve where the species is heading...

It really shows what a pampered generation this is...

Think sticking local, missing a pint, wearing a mask and kids missing some school (in a country where they will more or likely live past 20 either way compared to millions of the worlds children) is some kind of sacrifice...

Comparisons to the war effort. Ffs like

Dismissing that long covid could be the new polio...with prospect of looking after a million kids throughout their lives with no contribution to society because some adults couldn't wait to get out again, talk to their therapist with zoom,

Will we go back to TB sanatoriums and hide our mistake away? Probably... might cost a bit though... it'll be owned by a Tory wife...
