I’m always quick enough to criticise so I’ll praise when it’s deserved. I thought we were excellent all over the pitch today. Very impressed.

Good passing game and kept possession well.
I'm pleasantly surprised at how well we played and Doyle is a great signing!

Even though its pre-season, I thought it was a seriously good run out, everyone played their part. Plug those gaps up and if they play like that in most games it should be a good season

better than i expected in fairness to the lads...first half we were in control, created a few chances, o'brien could have had a couple and stewart might have got his name on the score sheet.

second half lost our way in many ways, maybe the heat was getting to both sets of players but flanno was much improved, hearts got into some good positions but apart from a shot off the post did not really trouble patterson, which is a wee bit of a shame as i wanted him to show he can stamp his authority on a game.

really the amount of subs did nowt to help the game but our bit of game management towards the end was nice to see, good work out and nice to see lads getting a run out, would be harsh to judge evans on that but basically did nowt wrong and looked composed.

Get another striker in with some proper full backs and I’d be a lot more confident heading into the season.

I was surprised at how much better our first touch was than theirs.

Patterson looked a little shaky and they played through the channels too easily imo.

McGeady looks up for it though and Gooch was dynamic.

Lots of good signs and we look like we have a system the players are comfortable with.

have to say i think flanno did improve 2nd half...strange to think he was 'the old head' in our back line "shudders".

crying shame we have to do without alby and willis though.

O'Nien dislocated shoulder again but only minor - should be back for next game.

    Hawkes has COVID

Wright minor knock - missed game as a precaution
