Anyone know why we stopped singing this at matches? I know it was predominantly a mag chant, but that never used to bother anyone. Would also sound class back in the day and could go on for ages.

I don't know why we stopped. It was a North East anthem. The Blaydon races attracted people from all over the region.

People were saying that we had nothing much to sing at Wembley. This would have been great imo.

Agree with that. We don’t seem to sing the ‘wordy’ chants anymore, which is a shame. There were some classics back in the day.

The 'Mickey Gray' one was Martin Smith . . . . and 'running down the wing' :emoticon-0105-wink:

In the good old days when loads of players had their own songs, and they were all brilliant :emoticon-0100-smile

    Mickey's was simply :emoticon-0159-musicMickey, Mickey, Mickey Gray . . . . Mickey, Mickey Gray:emoticon-0159-music
