I backed Party House when she ran against Sir Lucan and Wordworth. I thought she had a good chance that day but she wandered across the track and lost momentum, finishing up 3rd. I thought it surprising that they dropped her in trip 3F next time and she could manage only sixth place behind Willow. I think it is impossible to oppose Snowfall, so had a token bet in the without the Fav market. Nicest was 3rd in the Ribblesdale and is narrowly second rated here. I preferred her as the likely runner up. Good luck with Party House, she is 10/1 in the betting without the Fav market. 3.25 Curragh Nicest 3/1 (Without Snowfall)
Real money. Lost track of the saturday comp last year. Think i was doing ok with it aswell from what i remember
Another treat for Spencer fans there Well done Paul Nicholls - I was just thinking its only just over 4 months to the Hennessy at Newbury
I think Captain Tom Cat is a bit of a false favourite here after bossing 3 small fields over fences. This will be a very different proposition and I will be amazed if he can win this off 147. Paul Nicholls could take this one with Darling Maltaix who had his wind tweaked again and did it really well at Newton Abbot.
Ran too fresh early and paid the price. Well done the Bowens - amazing how they milk these big summer contests Great pick Swanny
Collected on Templepark, 5 places WH, shame about Red Force One, who was Red Force 13th. Kings Lynn next
Kings Lynn becoming a bit of a professional loser. NH beckons! Taste The Fear next - already tasted it, not a fan
Diligent Harry got the better of King's Lynn and Tabdeed (By a nose) but 11/1 shot Happy Romance produced a career best to mow them all down, Diligent Harry broke well, then looked as if he might get swamped but he rallied to take second on the nod from Tabdeed. Looking back at the Wokingham just before the race I felt Kings Lynn wasn't quite as unlucky as he looked on the day. Andrew Balding was cautious regarding the faster ground at a flat track against some good opponents today. I felt Diligent Harry was still a bit green today and perhaps he might benefit from being held up to conserve energy but I think he will win something good before long. His form figures speak of a trier and he has time to mature yet. Happy Romance beat my selection Alcohol Free in last season's Dick Poole at Salisbury. I had the Balding filly at 13/2 that day and she went and won the Cheveley Park next time gaining revenge from the Dick Poole. Happy Romance has done me in again today.
Oh well, Nicest caught late for second to Snowfall. Some poor fillies in opposition there today. A group 1 horse against Listed fillies.
Some filly that - miles clear on ratings so she was fully entitled to win like that, but it was impressive nevertheless. Bubbling up nicely now for the Arc.
I see Group 1 winner Accidental Agent won today off 104 in a Handicap. He's been on the downward path but I suppose if you drop them far enough they can get competitive again. Good price at 12/1 too.
Chipotle finding trouble twice but probably wouldn't have caught the winner anyway. That's it for me. good luck if you play on
Tony Gubbass for the Hannon's yet again. Chipotle wasn't away well and when he tried to get a run he was short of room and squeezed, he tried again to get out but got totally mullered and his race was over. Symphony Perfect made it a 1-2 for the Hannon stable and the Monopolies Commission need to have a word.
Thank you for the kind words guys! The Peter Bowen yard could win again in the last with the probable favourite, Rooster Cogburn (9/4 at the moment), but no bet for me! Happy with what I've got. I am hoping the grand old veteran Little Stevie can take this. Has been fairly well-backed and loves the course.
