Just been watching the Scottish Open and the weather looks great over there. Is anybody watching it live or on tv? American Justin Thomas, ( whose grandfather and father were golfing teachers in their own right ) .... and is considered a player with all the discipline and shots a golfer could have, just topped a fairway wood and made a hacker like myself, feel a lot more relaxed about the way l play. Thought we could have a thread for both the Scottish & British Opens ( which starts next week ).
Bryson DeChambeau spat the dummy on his specific driver ( Cobra ) bagged it bigtime. Keep in mind he sacked his caddy last week and has now bagged in clubs, for his poor efforts at the Open. Quote, unquote ......... "the guy is a loser of of the highest order'. Stay tuned for more updates at the Open.
A spokesman for Cobra itself, the same man who stood in for his sacked caddy last week, called him ‘an eight year old’.
l think your a pretty safe bet although l was hoping Smith ( the Aussie with the mullet) puts a charge on. Currently watching Bryson doing some gardening playing Army golf……..left, right, left, right.
Weather is set to be a scorcher over the weekend, up around 30 degrees in South East England so fairways will become harder and faster which could give some interesting bounces and the greens will start to burn up and become even quicker than they are at the moment....... It will become a real test especially if the breeze picks up.......
Be fair, he made the cut, and is tied in 37th place! I think he’s a fantastic golfer, but there are several other GB/NI golfers who have a better chance of winning a major now than him. But not this Open by the look of it. Not sure what the wind is like at Sandwich, but if it’s mild the course could be punished today.
They're saying whatever wind there is will die towards the evening, so the current leaders will most likely pull away from the pack.
****ing hell, two Canadians in the top ten at the Open and no Brits. Must be a first. Oosterhuizen has another decent day.
3rd Round Updated figures ............ Louie is looking good. Speith started well but dropped off. Yesterday, DJ got stuck behind the only tree on the course and was floundering. Can't see anyone from Hughes down winning. The wind would have to be blowing somewhat to make a big difference. If the tournament was being held in Scotland, it may have been, Oostie at Carnoustie ................... ok, sorry, l'm going now. ____________________________________________________________________________________________________ Tournament details Date:Jul 15–18, 2021 Course: Royal St. George's Golf Course Purse: $10,750,000 Leaderboard Break Pos Player R3 Thru Total 1 please log in to view this image L. Well done Collin Morikawa. Very calm and collected, and a second major at 24……impressive. Shame it didn’t blow a gale this week, but that’s the luck of the draw with links golf.
Woke up to see the result. Well done to the winner, Morikawa. Well played Spieth. Commiserations to Ooustie.
