Reasonable. He isn't as good as I'd hope just by his presumed physical attributes. OK player though. It is a surprise at his size he isn't statistically strong in the air. He much have issues picking up ball flight. Can't say I watch West Ham much, I only really watched Saints last season (Did watch other games, but not as many as I usually do). WHOSCORED tends to give you a decent picture of a player (that you either haven't watched for a while / can't really remember / don't know) by the strengths and weaknesses on the player profile.
Surprising perhaps, I know he was being touted as a signing for the "Big Six" a season ago. I avoid WHU so don't know anything other.
He was a really good player in his first season for them. Managers changed and he started to struggle and was in and out of the side for a while if I recall. Seems like a player who might need a change of scenery.
I don't think we will go down either. The question, is there a risk and l do think there is. It's now about risk mitigation which the club needs to address. They have tried to keep Ings offering the best contract they feel that they can, they have moved quick to replace Bertie, with what seems a good replacement - much more needs addressing, because of our non-effective owner.
Looks like we’ve signed Ethan Ross who declined a new contract at Aberdeen. 19yrs, midfielder, versatile but made name on wing. We will have to pay compensation. Edit: Trial with view to permanent move.
I have been thinking Brighton would swoop in and sign Armstrong, especially now they have the White money coming soon, from Arsenal.
Unless they don’t want to sign him? Or can’t afford to sign him? I don’t know why the summer window threads keep coming back to this. You can’t force people to buy your “overpaid” players. You also can’t force the players to accept a lower value deal elsewhere. The loans (Mo El, Lemina, Hoedt etc.) save money on the value we owe on their contracts and give the players an opportunity to attract a permanent move. It makes more sense to loan a player out if there’s no permanent offers pending. It doesn’t resolve anything, but it is the right thing to do financially.
Gets something like 4m off of our wage bill And they loan him because then at the end of the loan they can negotiate a new contract with him for lower wages than he is currently on. Because he is not going to get his current wages over a multi year deal anywhere else
Wow - didn`t see that coming. He`s a promising young player, but never a regular starter - he came off the bench a few times. He knocked back a new contract, and was looking for a move to England - didn`t think an EPL club would be in for him though. His hair isn`t as nice as Stuart`s though.
