He's played 21 games a season for us on average since 2018, he's not a sick note. I think his absence was due to one long term injury which he looks to be over now.
I agree mate but he got back from that injury and was injured again within weeks. I hope we can get him fit and keep him fit. Cattermole used to play 21 a season too and he was labelled a sick note!
I always expect players coming back from a bad one to pick up a couple of strains so I wasn't surprised by that. I'm sure he's played for long periods for us before, he must have to be out for ages and still average 21 games. I think he'll be alright.
I can understand him, footballers careers are short and when you're playing league 1 downwards you're gunna look for the best deal possible, unfortunately.
Agreed. On a side note, I clicked on the article about Doyle and they are talking about him getting international call ups in the future. He’s literally had one good game against Hearts. Talk about getting carried away
Well he is only 17, that's quite young if you hadn't noticed. You said it was fanciful that he'd get international call ups in the future, but he's already achieved that so...
Just show him the door hes weak as piss poor positionally and seems to have the sunderland disease of over hitting every cross. Only thing going for him imo is his above average pace
He's been well looked after here. Its very annoying thinking of him sat on his ar$e in our state of the art Training complex, nursing yet another injury contemplating moving to a club which is smaller than us just because they are offering him a few quid more on the over deserved salary we're offering him.
He might not be, he might be 100% behind re-signing for Sunderland. But if he can't play until November / December, from his point of view there is no rush to signing so its understandable why he'd want to hold out for as much money as possible. At the same time, its understandable that the club want him to commit. I think the deadline should have come earlier personally, as I don't think there's any risk of him moving away. It's a big game of chicken. I can't see a scenario where he doesn't sign on. And now LJ has publicly said it needs to be by end of next week, I reckon it will be in the next few days.
